If I aint wrong, Emas do patrol the expressway to make sure that everything is road worthy. My guess is, that the grease and sand could have been left there just before you have travelled on it rather than it being left there for quite some time. Cos if it were to have been left there for some time, other bike should hv kena cos you said ' im sure which ever bike go thru that right lane is bound to skid'.

And so, I think it is almost impossible for EMAS to be at the right time at the right place (unless they actually put every officer at every lampost. So what we actually need is every road users' consideration (be it the truck driver not to 'overload' or other road users to report the matter to the correct authority immediately)

Im sure, some drivers or motorcycle riders had already seen the grease and sand. But how many of us actually would take the extra step of stopping in front of the grease and sand to warn other road users of the danger. More often than not we rely on others or rather the public servant.

Anyway, from what I heard, LTA's camera is very powerful. Also, I think government servants are working hard enuff and always have to be scrutinized no matter how well they do the things cos, every each and single one of us have different mindset. Things cant be catered to everyone. Instead, we gotta be thankful to them for coming to our aid when we need. Be it SCDF, Police, LTA, NEA , HDB, Town council, TP, SAF etc etc

Now, back to your question about claiming : After I tok so much, frankly, I do not know. Sorrie.

This is just my two cents: No offense to anyone. Anyway, bro, get well soon.

I used to call regarding junctions with spoilt traffic lights. You can give the LTA officer the the 2 roads which the junction intersects, or give them the number stated on the lamp post. Apparently every lamp post has a serial number which allows the LTA officer to determine the location. A month or 2 ago, I saw sand and rocks across Bradell Road... There was so much of it it generated a mini sand storm into the opposite side of Bradell road following the wind... After calling LTA, the officer said she would get the SCDF and TP to clear it up. A few days later i actually received a call from dunno SCDF or LTA to thank me. If all of us give a call at the earliest possible time.. many unfortunate accidents may have been prevented. Usually, I'm only worried some rider will skid and get hurt, or i could be next as well. Rest well, Retro-dots, wish you a speedy recovery.

Hope someone can help...

Was on the way home with frens from chinatown ard 5plus morning was travellin along liang court cte tunnel towards AYE and u guys noe the very sharp and blind bend .. 2 bikes were more to left and my fren n i were more to the right lane when we skided quite badly thru the bend.

We're not speedin anything.. and when we got up and realise that the whole stretch of the right lane was covered with grease and sand.

5 mins emas and police ambulance came they closed up the area and fire engine was washing those lanes.

My concern is,yes i noe its self skided but can we claim from LTA coz im sure we ain't payin road tax for nothing .. i guess someone is prolly in charge of that whole expressway.. cause im sure which ever bike go thru that right lane is bound to skid.

And the police takin dwn statement seems to be havin fun rather than doin his job .. we took down fotos of the road and our whole bike tyres, the police keep saying dun haf to take coz there's cctv at the tunnel they can see from there but cctv is so small

and ya..my gf,fren and i were quite badly injured thou luckily no fractured but all got deep abarasiosn..

anyone can help.thanks so much.

By the way bro, are you talking about south bound CTE Chin Swee tunnel, after the exit to Havelock Road and Outram road, the stretch of right bend leading to Jalan Bukit Merah exit? Not sure if i got the location wrong.

Bro, i think its not the EMAS or LTA fault but look at those construction trucks. They are always carrying goods more than than the legal requirement.

I think something must be done to make this trucks follow the law.

ye bro, u r right. dont know why recently, got so many many lorries, loaded with debris, sand, mud 'wandering' around the roads of singapore.

this afternoon, at holland area junction, i was behind this lorry. i look up to its load, wow, it was a damn high load of soil. i was lookin in awe at the tallest point of the soil.. i rode passed as quick as i can. It will be weird if i encounter landslide from there...

YES! Causes of spillage is normally:

1. Trucks obviously going over their vehicle speed limit, which is 60kph. There was this one time I had to go 100kph just to go side by side to a Coach. I fear for the safety of the passengers inside, I really do. o_O

2. Trucks being overloaded.

Anyways the gravel spill at Tuas West Road leading to AYE is still there, after a week. In fact the gravel shifted to the pavement because of the huge number of trucks getting on the AYE from there, pushing the gravel to one side.

The guy who posted that LTA number, thanks. Gonna disturb them each and every time theres spillage in TUAS. Obviously someone is slacking off on the job in Tuas Industrial Area.

I think LTA is already doing a good job. Last week i sum stuff drop from a truck along holland ave. it created a real deep pot hole on the road. 2 hours later, police cars and contractors are there to fill it up.

retro dots, u r a bit unlucky there. they din get there quick enuff.. yup u shld get compensation for tt cuz it's not ur fault.. hopefully the cctv can find out which stupid truck left those stuff behind.. den u claim from LTA, LTA fine tt guy..

Get well soon. =)

LTA will say its not their grease and sand

My suggestion is the next time we see overloaded trucks, we take down their license number, time of incident and road name then submit to TP for summon/warning action.

But be prepared to appear in court if TP summon and the driver decides to fight the case. But its definitely worth fighting in court rather than fighting in ICU for our lives.

dun think its easy to claim.. i ever consult a lawyer for the incident happen at lentor and mandai rd junction.. quite a few bikes skidded..even police came..then i wrote to LTA and conplain and seek conpensation and they took me to seek legal advise..then my lawyer say difficult to claim as there was no roadworks going on..if there is then could be due to it but since there isen't any,LTA could say that jus b4 u reach that junction 5 mins ago, a lorry drove pass and tank leak diesel but u so suay that kena it.. And oso they cant always position someone there and look at the road there 24hrs a day... jus my 2cents....No offence

This does seem like a realistic scenario. I've seen claims successfully made against the LTA and its contractor where there were road works; on the other hand, sand on the road sounds a lot more difficult to succeed.

Errmm, one way is follow him till traffic light. But no need to take also can. You say you saw with your own eyes at this time and this road. More than enough i guess.
