hi guys,i just bought a 2nd hand wave-r from mah's.cost me $3400 otr,i know its abit ex but the bike is fz***t plate, what the salesguy told me is its 3mth old and the previous owner change to a sym or something, the mileage was 2303.5km and the accessories that came along on the bike were sport rims,a pipe guard(looks like carbon fibre one),a pair of nice throttle grip and suspensions...interest is 7% per annum,i think,i gave a downpayment of 1k and monthly installment of $81 for three years...my insurance cost me $630 for tpft(me 2nd rider 19yrs old, first rider 27yrs old)...apart from that the bike felt okay while test-riding even though i only tested to gear 2(short strip of land to test the bike)was it worth it??? i just hope its not gonna be a problematic bike...but doubt so due to low mileage...tell me what u guys thinks...a bit worried ah to buy second hand bike...

Hey bro,

I also just got this so-called 2nd hand wave-r from mah's. Cost me $3600, fz plate. For my case is that the bike is 8 months old. Why I said so-called 2nd hand is because the bike is pre-registered by mah's, hence, they're the 1st owner. Bike not used and the mileage only 8km. Accessories are original, and I get 1 box, 1 basket and 2 helmets as part of the deal. Was told by the salesperson that a brand new wave-r will cost ard $3900. Don't know abt interest rate, paid in full. Insurance abt $300+ tpft.

Not too sure about how good the deal is. Bought it coz need it urgently and too lazy to find out about other deals from othe shops.

Anyone care to input some suggestions please?

Yup. I did ask the sales person, how come 8 month old plate can be fz one? He said something like the bike I'm buying got special plate. Don't really understand what he's getting at. Don't bother to find out more anyway.

his 7% is considered as 2nd owner liao ma instead of as the 1st owner thus i believed it's considered as resaled bike.as for the 8mths old FZ Wave-R they probably changed the numberplate oni..??:giddy:

Agree with you. I think they just change the plate. Kinda strange that the number can be special one as told by the sales person.

I brought mine from ASPHOON. Traded in my X9-250cc but still have to top up S$200 due to the terrible condition of my old bike.

Word of advice. If you are thinking of getting Wave R and adding a basket, don't get the version with a "ignition lock" feature as the basket will block the locking hole (hope you guys get what I mean) just get Wave R with normal ignition keyhole will do.

yah they can 'keep' the numberplate then sell it 2gether wif a bike to customers, marking the pricing higher so when u loan more they earns more interests ma..aniway they juz pay the meagre transfer fee to LTA for keeping the nice numbers..
