Yes, its under the petrol tank. Only a small part of the damper is exposed, but its covered with a cover (quite hard to notice).

Btw, i tink currently most bike shop will be selling the 08v bah (I only saw 08v in most of the shop except for boon siew, still hv 07v).

Only the Japanese-spec CBR 600 (the one with Konica Minolta paintwrk) is in restricted form. Its actually meant only for the Jap market but some Euro and other Asian countries are importing it of course.

From what I know, Singapore only take in the European spec models. Therefore we dont have to worry about power-cuts or restrictions, UNLESS you're getting the Konica Minolta one laa. (which is out of point then!)

So yep, just fyi la. Nwae, im getting my bike tmrw man. Freakin excited coz its also my bird-day liao. Haha but first i better learn how to control the bike, before it becomes the other way round! Cant wait to get to meet other CBRians.

Peace out!

PS: LeoVince & Akra sound really, really orgasmic.

It's to prevent the handle bar from moving left and right when u accelerate fast over uneven road.

Imo it's superior over after market dampers since it only kicks in at high speeds (which is when u want it).

Aftermarket dampers have to be preset, hence be it during high speeds or while doing a U-turn, it's always at that preset tightness.

that's what i already mentioned in http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3943849&postcount=1576

even had pics but nobody believed me. btw, all jap spec 600RRs of all colors are restricted because of strict sound emission laws, not just the konica minolta version.

i do prefer leo vince sound compared to akra. used a akra slipon on my previous 600 and it's just ripping loud with the silencers out. i did observe leo vince pipes sound throatier at low revs even with the silencers in. then again, i like the stock look of the exhaust so hey, whatever rows your boat.

greetings CBR-ians,

would like to know if anyone has installed a DIY grill to protect the radiator from flying stones or debris....i asked this because on my last track day, a stone got thrown up from my front tire (at speed) and hit the radiator, causing a small hole in it.

when i pitted, the bike was smoking and the left side of my bike was green from the coolant. i had to ride back from PG with the bike temperature hovering between 115-130 degrees. i don't know how i made it back but i did, by the skin of my teeth...

.....and i'm $480 poorer from the new radiator.

so anyone has a DIY 'radiator protector' or is thinking about making one?

See u make hole on yr radiator i think better make one grill....hahaha....PG got a lot of flying stones lah.

oh, i didnt know motoworld had them. 50 bucks u say? sounds like a gd idea. i've definately making this investment. 480 bucks for another radiator doesn't sound like fun. :(

btw, i also sent my bike for a full service. but mine cost a whopping $500+! changed plugs, K&N air filter, oil filter, oil, coolant (from the broken radiator)...plus the radiator, you're looking at a total cost of almost 1000 big ones....

i was thinking of going tues to PG leh...can? come la...wed i flying off la...

Hey thx for the explaination.... Now i understan wat does the damper do.... But than, u said at high speed than the damper will do its job.... Hmmm... Wat is consider high speed? Wat speed is high enuff for the damper to kick in?? Sry ah, another noob question....

Hmmm.... I think i noe wat u r refering to.... I'm thinkin of gettin 1 myself... Although i dun track.... But i do wanna protect my radiator from flying debris since i always have to go work at places which have alot of stones on the road...

But my friends and i call it the wire mesh.... I heard that we can buy it for around 50bucks.... Like wat MSF67 said.... Maybe we could ask around and make a order of a few wire mesh for our bike than maybe can get even cheaper...

wah so many ppl riding this bike liao. i also wan! :cheeky:
