yesterday happily went to K&T to service my bike. bonus in, mileage already 36k, time to treat the bike to whatever it needs. original plan:

Motul 300V x4

Original Oil filter

Maxima Cool-aide

NGK Iridium spark plug x4

Original chain and sprocket

Front brake pad ("King" brand) x2

Fresh brake fluid

Throttle body balancing (recommended based on mileage)

Original estimate: $650++

After that, got a call. Front and rear bearings are already damaged. my radiator cap rubber seal already worn out. clutch cable worn out. rear tyre has 2 small punctures from small nails. and "your air filter dirty, very black already, got leaf some more!" i wanted to cry but ended up laughing over the phone.

Additional parts:

radiator cap

Front and rear bearings + top-up oil

K&N Air Filter

tyre inner patch x2

clutch cable

Final tuning with all parts in

Final Grand Total: $1080 :faint:

Bonus?! What bonus......?!

and those tyres sure need to change soon too....

:btw: this is in no way a criticism of K&T's prices. sure, you can possibly get parts and servicing cheaper in some places.... but i've always brought my cbr600rr to them, and will continue doing so. i've never had nor heard of any complaints about their workmanship, and if he says something needs to be changed, i believe him. he kept all the parts in a trash bag to show me when i collected the bike (wow i never saw a black air filter before  ). regulars of K&T will agree, they're not cheap, but they're good and reliable.

this is just a reflection of how expensive it costs to own a class 2 bike, especially a modern sportsbike. young newbies better think twice. and dont trust the manual so much, some parts need replacing way earlier than what the manual states.

BT021 oso not bad....

BT021 is more the touring range rite?

I'm wondering bout the BT-016. if their latest BT-016 works better than Michelin PP2CT, i might get that. i onli know the PP2CT works way better than the old BT-014. can someone enlighten me if they've caught up with the PP2CT?

the PP2CT is just dam fun.

michelin PP2CT is only 320 and it works a whole lot better on the road compared to full race-spec tyres.

i personally wouldn fit race-spec or touring-spec tyres on my bike. i think for the road hypersports tyres work best. then again, i dont track frequently and i never tour.
