Hi Everyone,

I had received word over the weekend that Kim Peng, the distributor for Maxima Oils in Singapore had passed away after an accident.

To avoid any confusion, I will mention that it was a single vehicle incident.

The accident occured late Saturday night (11th August 07) in Gelang Patah, Malaysia, as he was returning to Singapore with a group of friends from supper. Kim Peng was rushed back to Singapore by ambulance and admitted in the National University Hospital.

Unfortunately, even after his friends and medical staff had tried their best to save him, he succumbed to his injuries soon after.

He was 30 years old and is now survived by his sister, his only sibling, and his parents. He also leaves behind his girlfriend.

I went to the wake yesterday with Diraj & Jeffrey Keng to pay our respects.

His immediate family and closest friends seem to be taking the tragedy well, but are of course, deeply saddened. My prayers are with them and I hope that they can stay strong through this ordeal. I urge everyone reading this to include Kim Peng and his family in their prayers.

For those that would like to pay their last respects and give whatever moral and spiritual support to Kim Peng's family and loved ones, you can do so at the Singapore Casket, 131 Lavender St, Emerald Room (Level 3). It is a Buddhist ceremony.

Today (13th August 07) is the last day of the wake, his body will leave the Singapore Casket to be brought to Mandai Columbarium's Hall 1 for cremation on Tuesday (14th August 07) at 8.45am. It is estimated to arrive at Mandai at 9.45am.

I had not known Kim Peng very long, but could easily see that he had strong passion for our sport. It is disastrous that we are losing someone like him, who was on the way up, heading for success. I will remember him for all the help he extended to me in the recent year, but more importantly for his honest, obligation-free friendship and advice.

Rest In Peace, Kim Peng.

Condolences,

Hart Victor.

Just a footnote:

I think that people close to Kim Peng would appreciate if we avoid discussing the fine details of the accident on this forum.

Let's respect him in his passing and not conjure up any wild theories or use this forum to evaluate our suspicions.

"Leave (this matter alone) and Let (it) Die", nothing we say or do now will change anything.

Your cooperation is sought.

Kim Peng is one of the nicest guy i've ever met, always helping others.

I remember the first time i met him, he was giving me tips on tour riding, even thou he hardly knew me. My most memorable trip with him was riding up to Cameron Highland with him. Great guy that i will miss dearly.

Hi Hart...

I am quite surprised at what happened and even though I have never met him before, I do feel this loss. I have always had in mind to meet this guy in person over kopi sooner or later but it seemed the day will not come.

As such, on behalf of Fuchs Silkolene Singapore, I offer my deepest condolences to those affected parties.

Condolences to his family and love ones. Just back from the wake.

Kim Peng is a personal friend I knew since his Uni days in the late 90s and early 2000s.

A very friendly, approach-able guy which anyone can easily chat him up without fearing of being be-littled.

after a 3-4 yrs break of not seeing him, I met him again at his usual bicycle shop which we met earlier. Friendship never dies...

A DEAR friend I will miss for sure.

Good Rest to you, my Friend.!

It is indeed a tragic loss for the biking community.

I hope he was not the only one dealing with Maxima or we will lose more than just a fellow biker but also a range of excellent products.
