yo~ morning. =)

to All PKs:

thanks for the advice...

what surprised me was when i dropped to gear 5 @ 65km/h.... i had to full throttle...

and the engine nv roar... instead like softer n softer... sians...

so u all chiong the slope... end up at the top also 50km/h?

Do what's right, not what you think is right. =)

cool... thanks for your comment... now i can be more assured...

only can avoid that slope le..

cruisers are not design to climb slope...esp..like those at ben sheares bridge..

in fact there are aweful...

but a scrambler will do fine...they are hill climbers...:thumb:

yeah...and sometimes embarrasing coming to a hurried gear shiting..especially on a new..bike.

had this experience on my steed on the first ride...just anormal short slip(sloping upwards) road out of the ecp. ..riding at 60 kmh...at 5th gear..

before i know the bike start to slow and drift and almost stall..then struggling to downshift at the same time..

almost hit a car on the my right...phew.......:sweat

Doesn't happen for me... probably because my total weight is lesser... But can be also i usual approach up slopes at high speeds (~90+ km/h) at gear 6. And if my speed drops to 70ish i drop 1 gear, if down to 60ish i drop 2. if down to 50 i drop 3 to gear 3 already.

Go upslope please dun try to save petrol or worry about engine over rev by keeping the gear high and revs low. It is dangerous if you run out of power or when engine stalls mid slope with traffic behind you. There is more power in the engine's higher revs and that is what helps you to climb up slopes.

well, that's what lower gears are for, arent they?

move off & curb slopes for the difference in speeds?

:btw: snap, u coming tonight?

im abit confused over my TA150 transmission now. when i hit 90kmh, my rev seemed to be very high as the noise is rather loud. is this normal? when i count again from gear 1, its still only 5 gears i can play with. gear 1, gear 2, gear 3, gear 4 and lastly gear 5, after gear 5 i cannot kick another gear further. i can reached the speed of 120kmh easily but my engine will be screaming away. is this normal? what happened to gear 6? my transmission has no problems as i can shift gear smoothly, and power transfer is very smooth. powerful acceleration with no visible clutch slip. someone pls help.

Just, frm yr description, my hunch is the 6th gear gone.

Actually, all the shop's reputation have been splashed all over the SBF.com

You can get infos, just by using the search function.

Also, this is a chit chat thread, henceforth, shld discuss any technical matters to be asked in the Questions For Newbie thread.

Anyway, to answer yr previous post, the pricing listed I see, IMO, are consider reasonable.

I find the price alright. You start from gear one. kick through neutral to gear 2. Meaning 5 kicks = 6 gears.

I want to see the world and i'm pretty sure the world wants to show a little something to me.

Seems reasonable, but Air Filter, genuine for $18? Is this Orange shop? Coz he usually charges 20+ for 'original'.

I wonder who visits orange shop these days?

I visit once in few months to get stuff done, he doesnt charge me much ;)

But i know he certainly has those 'modern' sports-influenced Phantom owners coming in regularly ;)

You dont have to ride a Phantom to visit orange... Haha...

I have the best signature.
