About the roadblock, it may have been targeted specifically at motorcycles. They may have been checking for stolen bikes, riders without licence, that kind of thing. Don't always think they have something against riders. Just because we gear up doesn't mean we're excused from such checks.

As for being rude, well they're on duty at such a late hour. Bound to feel tired and grumpy. Glad FNO went well.

well... it is indeed a highly sensitive issue... my hair is enough for a cultural shock for them... have to slowly let them get used to this incongruous greatgrandson / grandson / nephew / cousin / uncle... :cheeky:

Should have gotten corn rows or dreadlocks done...heh heh

hi all, today 1st time kiss a honda jazz. by the time i hit the car, the speed was less then 10km/h. The driver quote me 200 - 300 for respray and if have to change bumper its another 200 - 300.

IMAGE_080.jpg

there is no dent, so i think no need to change bumper right? how much is the market price for respray? is the price give by him reasonable?

The most is sanding, plaster den spraypaint it over. Besides, it looks like a standard silver grey color and not any special paint job.

I would probably try dreadlocks once my hair is long enough... but I would need a lot of time to form it before I go out... :weep:

yea true, but i believe alot of bikers out here got hit n run by cars too and if its unlucky it might be far more than just scratches den we report to police but in the end we dont even get a simple apology. :dot:

there have been many hit n run cases but the spf doesn't look lyk they did much abt it unless its a really big case. :(

i'm not say we shouldn't take responsibility but this driver is obvious tt he wana rip u off, if he die die wan 200 to change the whole bumper i would just tell him y dont i break ur bumper and i bring home, also $200 wad.. :cheeky:

but its a good thing tt u actually stop n talk to the driver abt it

yup, i think he want to rip me off. he will give me the exact quotation on monday. i tell him not to do anything to the car 1st already. will update you guys on monday again. Thanks.

I'm looking for a 2004 or later Shadow400/750. It would be awesome if its black. Cash deal.

Anyone have friends selling or see in a bike shop, give me a beep.

(its kind of tough to go window shopping for a bike when you are bikeless)

u should have gone down to idac, even if u both dun wanna do insurance at all, they are the legal 3rd party to verify the damages caused...but then again seek a 2nd opinion at any random shops with the car owner, if ur afraid he might cheat u off, write down a list of car workshops ur familiar or that u trust, then u ask him to choose from the list if he don't mind to get a 2nd opinion from

if all else fails, or things gets nasty, tell him settle insurance( but u gotta hope he have yet to go IDAC) cause either way the insurance coy might reject his claim due to the fact that its now a legal responsibility to report all accidents to IDAC for damage verification within 24hrs irregardless of what, so non-disclosure of accidents he'll lose out big time cause ur own insurance coy can say he aggravated his own damages or inflat the claims...

sit down and have a good talk, work things out, if neither budges, then my suggestion is to settle thru insurance and let them slug it out...

Cheers!

Try others like mycarforum or even SBF inhouse 4 wheeler thread.

unfortunately, car respray even for bumper is about that pricing.

Whether to change the bumper or not depends on the clip on the inside of the bumper where it connects to the frame or main body. If it breaks (whether before or after the bang), LLST.

You have the license plate of the Jazz, can guess the age and the gen.

And for any situation, as long as gena accident, whether or not you and the other party has agreed to do a private settlement, you still have to call up your insurance company and inform them so that:

1. If there is a need to claim, they can prepare to calculate how much to up your premium, hehe

2. More imptly when you and the other party agreed to do a private settlement, inform your insurance company also so that the other party dun bua chao and claim from your insurance.

So no matter claiming or not, always call your insurance company. And have the other party's details on hand.

You know, reading Lun's post reminds me of how lost I was when I got into my first accident. I think it's the same for everybody, no one knows what to do when they get into an accident and they come to the forums for help. Well, what to do when you get into an accident is actually pretty standard but when people reply to the guy their answers are often fragmented; each person tells him of a small part here, a small part there and he has to piece it all together. What I was thinking is that we should have a sticky or thread with a checklist of what to do when you get into an accident.

I know lots of us are now familiar with the procedure but after an accident, especially if there's an injury, it's hard to remember what to do when one is all shaken up and worried over his own bike, the financial implications of getting into an accident and so on. I think a checklist would be quite useful. Thoughts? Kev, what do you think?

Tycoon,

For spraying of Honda Fit/Jazz.

Try googling for KWEK JOO SPRAYING SERVICES located at tampines ind.

Very popular spraying/touch up shop among fit jazz forum.

Rates are reasonable.

At least its not throat cutting.

From the visual look of your attachment, its just some paint chipped off.

can get it done quite cheaply, Provided no fiber patching are required.
