its cause of the design of racing footrests...not w/ the brand~ hehe :cheeky:

hi all, i juz fix my yoshi footrest last sat... i use cable for the back rear brake... frankly speaking, no braking pressure at all...! might not be so bad for me as i dun use the rear brake but best is to have at least some braking for e-braking... i tinking of changing to disc instead of the drum brake... x1 fellow riders, any comments? tks!

Topic : Wave S top speed 110km/h

Description : Nil

********************************************************************

Hi guys,

My wave S 125 top speed is 110km/h I am quite light about 55kg.

Is this normal?

What can I do if i wish to have more speed?

btw I also feel that the braking distance for wave is quite big, (even with engine brake) will replacing to a big front disc brake will help?

wah... so cable brake does not work?? hmm...

btw, i saw some of the x1 pics in thailand... n some of them actually use cable brakes for their drum brake... donno if it works...

the idea of changing to disc brake is good...

im goin to change it too.. its only the matter of time.. hehe...

i tink u shud give it a try.. but, kinda costly huh... have to buy the caliper, pump, the disc(bracket), and also the footrest is different from ours...

their footrest is made for disc brake while ours is for drum....

all in all i tink u gonna spent more then S$300 if u were to change it in m'sia...

U cahnge change to bigger disc... try CBR400 disc if u can find 2nd hand.

Need some mods to fit it.

Also change SS brake lines.

And try DP brake pads....

Cheers and hope this helps.

hm..so my guess was right..changing frm rod to cable also does have limited effect

anyway changing to rear disc brake is good

for those who intend to change rear disc brake + footrest, i would recommend u to do both of them together at the same time

now dionna is stuck at the same situation as me previously, had a racing footrest fixed (those w/o brakepump bracket) then later on want to add in rear brake disc (and then realise its better to actually get a racing footrest w/ brake pump bracket e.g. NSR150SP's yoshi footrest)

:giddy:
