Hi,

My father was asking me if it is possible to modify his wave 125 rear drum brake to rear disc brake.

Has anyone done that before? How much does it cost and how long it takes to complete the modification?

Hmm...in my opinion, For cubs, better not to use oversized disc and too good brake pads coz lets say if u need to do emergency brake where u apply most pressure to front, ur wheels might lock, lose control of ur bike(Cubs front is very light unlike sportsbike) and resulting in self skidded(like me 2 mths back)...... If im not wrong, 220mm ok already....dun need till 300mm..... but if u intended for cosmetic purpose, use a louzy brakepads..... This is just my opinion.....any comments>?

because of the larger diameter of oversized disk brake rotors, you get more surface area. more surface area means the rotors cool faster which in turn makes for a powerful braking power. that is one of the reasons why they use big brakes in racing bikes and cars... these vehicles go faster that is why they need extra effort to stop.

but a light vehicle does not need big brakes. your brakes must be balanced to the weight of the vehicle or else, it's going to be hard to control when you're braking.

ya, agree with not going oversize brake. Even on my stock rotor, sometime when i e-brake the front end of the wheel will lock and go hopping on the ground. if it done on the wet i bet my front sure peng. sports bike is diff coz of the grip and the way it handle.

Hmm.... i just curious,, what happen if the insurance company found out that you have an oversize braking disc installed? If i was them, i will not let you claim a single cents when you involve in any accident. My 2 cents of advise.

Hi guys, ain't sure if this is the right subforum as I couldn't find the appropriate subforum.

Not sure if any Sparkz T135 users had such problems. This is what happens.

When I press my front brake lever and let go, master cylinder does not push back the lever immediately, instead it takes at least 3-4seconds before returning the lever to the original position.

So I tried pressing the lever and push the lever to the front with my hands and observer the master cylinder slowly push outwards.

Went to Unique Motorsport 3 times, 1st time was told change lever, works for that day only, 2nd time, change new master cylinder, much better but few days later same issue returned, 3rd time my own initiative change brake pads and bleed fluid. Sadly still doesn't work.

Anyone had similar experience that could give me some advice?

How old is ur bike?

Is your brake hose rubber or steel braided?

Rubber hose tend to expand more when aged.

Changing to steel braided should solve the problem instantly.

P.S buy at least a reputable brand. E.g Hel, Galfer, Velhill
