Toyota Altis page gone quiet?

My take on the Altis besides it being boring.

Normal Jap car standards all round

Awful body design

Fair fuel consumption.

Poor low quality leather upholstery.

Cheap plastics and ugly plastic "wood" panelling.

Good reliable engine

Fair cabin space, boot size...

I wouldnt buy it but my Dad did.

after driving for 3 months of my dad's altis, i didn't see any problem with it, it is a good transport car.

quiet engine, good fuel consumption, reliable.

power wise not as good as the previous batch corolla, altis engine not so revy, accerelation not as good and suspension a little bit soft.

overall is a good car for those who only needs a reliable transport.

afterall not everyone buying car for exciment, a good & reliable car always has a good sales figure... :D :D :D

Yeah, very likely when I turn 60, i will also buy a reliable Jap car.

anyway, my Dad drives it only 10% of the time, the other 90% of the time my sister drives it....

Do I have a Carrera? No.

Unfortunately, after buying a brand new Volvo in 2004, I am not so willing to sell my Volvo to take a $40k loss.

I do hope to sell it next year if possible for an old Mercy SL or an old Carrera 911

Wow, road tax for a porsche is S$3k a year u noe. But of cos there's always pple for pleasure and satisfaction, money is no object.

heh heh, no offense but you clearly dont know about Carreras. If only 3k a year, i wouldnt need to think at all becos my current car road tax is already $2200.

For you info, carrera (less than 10 yrs COE) road tax is $4500++.

I am thinking of getting a 1991 carrera 964 3.6litres flat 6.

Just buying the car alone is very affordable as it's priced around $90k to $110k depending on the mods and the tranny

Being more than 15 yrs the road tax is 1.5X the original amount, coming up to about $6500 per year.

In other words the road tax alone is more than the depreciation of most standard japanese family car!! Only issue is that i cannot accept the idea of paying so much money to the Govt.....bah.....

well i'm changing to an altis...not because i prefer a toyota but it's got better $$ value than any other jap cars. depreciation lower and safety wise it's good. I still have my bike to keep me happy and the car... it's jus another one of my collection.
