Will the 08 Kawa Ninja 250R kick start the 2A Sport bike era??

Detailed technical specifications have yet to be announced, but the new machine’s power is expected to be in the region of 45bhp – with the firm saying owners will be surprised by power at high revs – and easily restricted to the 33bhp mark that new riders are limited to for the first two years after passing their tests.

 

One point to note the tires is paper thin...If they are using the 120/160 I guess it somehow fulfill the factor of a baby supersport...

Too bad the tires is paper thin if not not add an exhaust, you will have a wicked bike. The side and rear look good but the front left too much to be desired...

single front brake disc with 2 pistons caliper wouldnt give gd braking power. the front not that nice. maybe this will be popular in msia.

in sg, sound fast look fast is enough. run fast fine fast die fast.

actually malaysia already have the ninja 250. its bloody fast n loud. n looks nicer than this 08.

hmm.. parallel twin engine wif 250cc, dun sound like its gonna be popular in sgp..

If the price is right, I dont see why not. Parallel twin have more low end torque and should be a quick run about....

Too bad the 400cc sportbikes long gone....Those wanna have 2A sport bikes can only pick up shagged bikes with more than 10 years in the engine to run about....

Are those inline/parallel twin configuration as nimble as v-twins? If yes then I think this bike got potential, given the bhp produced. Curiuos as there aren't many bikes with this configuration.

 

Neway not very confident this bike will reach our shores. There are lots of wonderful kawa bikes elsewhere but somehow they never seems to reach our shores, unlike Yamaha and Honda.

The specs are out on the official Kawasaki UK website. Seems that they have two variants, the carb version and the efi version. Both produced different hp and torque at different rpm. Chassis wise they have different wheelbase length and weight, although very marginal.

actually hyosung also came out with a 250cc GT250R v-twin i think? but its only sold in malaysia under a diff name..the hyosung 1 looks fiercer imo.

The Hyosung GTR was sold in SG b4 , but its the 600cc version . Ever saw it at BP n tot it was a gsxr. Anyway , not much exposure locally .

the old zx250 is more trick,

with usd forks, twin front brakes, and inline 4 very high revving engine.

 

this new one i think will be like a big bore cbr150?

2b 2strokers will kick it's ass no problem.

there is a 2 model of kawasaki 250 in m'sia,zxr250 which is inline 4cycl 16valve

engine,with the right exhaust system the bike sound a bit like F1 car at higher RPM. The zzr250 is a parralel twin engine and not really popular as the design not sporty and sound like bajaj bike,the new 2008 250r engine similar to old zzr250,i don't think is a good deal...
