To check, is it necessary to flush when changing coolant? I saw the mech just drain off and then pour new one in. Safe?

hmm, the word u used are contradicting bro... u wanna change coolant so you flush ma... do u mean topping up wif different brand of coolant?..

Nope I mean is it necessary to use distilled water to flush internally before Pouring in new coolant?

U dunt need to use distilled water to use as a flush agent unless u r filthy rich..tap water will do. Distilled or deionsed water is only NEEDED to premix with CONCENTRATED COOLANT (two types..one premixed and the other is concentrated). The term "flush" is being use wrongly..it should be "rinse"...flushing radiator or coolant system means using 'acidic' agent to be mixed with ur current old coolant and run system for 15 mins to clear off sluge etc..cost much more $s to do.

1) Coolant circulation failed (Coolant pump koyak!)

2) Same as above (Thermostat koyak)

3) If all above okay (radiator clogged with rust)

4) If above all ok (Radiator fan switch koyak!)

5) Anyway of the above...pocket koyak!

do we actually top up the reserve coolant with the green liquid instead of just distilled water?

Best is to top up with green liquid(coolant), if wanna save some $$ then use distilled water is fine, then change coolant when u see ur reserve coolant is dirty

Hi all, yesterday my bike experienced this problem. After I off engine and park my bike, I heard boiling sounds from the coolant area. After about 2-3 secs, liquid started splashing (yes, splash, not drip) out all over the engine oil area. Temp light did not light up, I checked the coolant, level was way above the "Upper" line (almost filled to the brim), colour was bluish. After 1 day (which is today), when I went to my bike there was no pool on the floor or anything, but my coolant level has dropped to the "upper" level indicator.

Oh and normally when I just turn the key, the fan will start blowing but after yesterday I never hear the fan turn on. Bike feels fairly hot on the shin/foot area when riding, but temp light did not light up.

Can anyone advise?? Is it because top up too much coolant?? Fan spoilt?

sorry just wanna check...is it bad to top up with a diff brand of coolant? i want to start doing things myself...but also wanna make sure i dont do anything stupid! haha.

Most motorcycle problems are a result of the nut that connects the handlebar to the saddle

different brand is ok as long as u nv mix it wif tap water... most coolant are ready use don require mixing... mix wif distilled water if required

Hi guys, I riding CB400 super 4 spec 3. My bike used up coolant like drinking water. I used to stuck in the traffic jam before Singapore Custom during peak hour, and there's hot steam coming out from my bike's belly due to engine overheat. But after that I top up the coolant then it still used up very soon without traffic jam. I went to a bike shop in JB and the boss told me my ''casket'' spoiled and the repair will cost me RM700. Anybody got better idea what's going on or you

experienced this before? I need your help.. Thank you in advance..

Not casket... It's gasket... That's the rubber seal which prevents the coolant or engine oil from leaking... Cost about Sgd $35... Not very sure... But for RM700, means it's not only your gasket... And anyway, check properly where it's leaking from... Maybe leaking from your radiator so need change a new one that's why it's rm 700... Anyway, radiator about Sgd $300... Maybe less... Have to know what exactly is wrong with your bike... Because if they repair your bike and the problem still persists, you'll become their long term customer...
