Strokers are bought by those who thrieve for powerbands and theassociated 2stroke crackle that is the produced and the smell of 2t.

If thebike is well sorted and cared for an nsr250 can compete with big bikes when cornering, they areone of the sweetest handling bikes i have ever hand and i have had an do have many bike, going to a shrink who reckons he can wean me of bikes!

I agree theycost a bit to look after but they are exotics from a age when the majors were competing to produce the trickists bikes in the quarter litre class and whether its tzr, rd, rgv, nsr we all have to make sure they never die.

Yes quite true when we race full circuit at Sepang..a bit subjective at PG though coz of tighter corners...ZX4 leads

most of the 250s racing 2 strokes are problematic bikes....unless you buy first hand and you really take care of it....rs250 72horpower more than 400cc but overtime no power already cause its wear and tear faster....pgm4 still loses to rs250 interms of power and handling....but looks....very beautiful....you cant first hand rs250 now...so dont waste money buying used 250s into thinking they can take on 400ccs sportsbike.....even after overhauling the engine...it wont be the same like new....unless send to specialist agent aprillia at italy.....spore mechanic do overhaul cannot pakai one....no power one.....ive been riding 250s last time before changing to 4 strokes bike...cost i like motogp 250s bike..cant get 500cc in spore so buy 250s...ride RGV250pepsi,tzr250r for about 2 yrs...give up cost me a lot of money....and still cant beat 400ccs sportbike at top speed.....i have a friend who bought rs250 bike 2nd hand and he really regret for not listening to my advice....he said 400cc are very common..rs250 very elegant, fierce looking, higer torque....looks like racer...till we try at 2nd link....my cbr400rrr leave him to smell my smoke......hahahhaha and at pasir gudang 400cc bikes still leading all the way infront of him..even 400cc scrambler is faster than his bike on straight.....like i said...250s day are over......

Not when we race our nsr250..we get tired of winning

well..most 250s are discountinue in production.....or no longer sold in spore....only used ones left....still trying to repair the 250s engine???unless first hand bike 250....its very powerful....but in pasir gudang track ...5 laps....i usually see 400ccs bike dominate in 125- 400cc race....even the 400cc scramblers are good.....250s..very upset...lack of power...no endurance...like i said...it wont be as good as new....spore bikeshop doing the 250 bikes are not really good....even after overhauling its parts, you wont get the same power like the new 250s....many riders dont like 250 not only because of maintenance and problematic engine.....most of them know, that 400cc bikes are more powerful if they spend money to modified rather than 250.....dont believe me?go down to pasir gudang this track day,and you can definitely see someone riding rs250...see whether what isaid is true..its not that the rider no good or what...but can see the bike not as powerful as 400cc bike

Got tons of parts and engines anything u want as long as u can pay man haha..no problem

[maintenance..engine,piston,gearbox...etc...then go ahead and own one...last time i also dont really listen to old timer riders about the 250s....you seldom see 250cc 2 stroke on the road or shop cause no value, problem bike, expensive price(some more expensive like 400cc bike),expensive spare parts, must order(they dont keep parts)especially RS250 and PGM250.....

well , i really like PGM 4 but then its a problematic bike with expensive spare parts so in the end still continue with pgm small brother ( NSR SP 150 ) haha ... :)

seriously, when i ride sp, it gives me much much more problems than my pgm.. and to be honest, pgm's engine is so so much more durable than sp's..

actually, i personally find that pgm iv's parts are also not very expensive.. if u wan u compare the prices to 400cc bikes.. never compare a 250s to 150s.. after some comparism with my frens riding 400, i find they are almost the same price..

Hmm.. i think pgm iv parts are not really hard to find.. they still do have plenty of stock parts.. but i suppose u're talking bout aftermarket parts like HRC, Tyga etc. rite?

but still they are nt that hard to find.. cos gt YOU..!! lol..

250's era is over? that sounds dam wrong... i have no objections against u saying all that but atleast think abt it... what if singapore's laws does not restrict bikes from changing any parts, doing engine modifications, and stuffs? i think you should go watch some AMA National Road race videos where even 250 cc overtakes 1100cc and WINS the overall matches of formula USA racing.., hard to belive? , when it comes to tracks.. 250s are the best ever made for track ! thats the fact~ but stil that doesnt mean 250 are the king of all bikes... still depends onthe rider.. fast rider on fast bike and slow rider on fast bike makes a big difference =)

Haha 100% agree. If 2 stroke machines are kept stock, they are probably almost bullet proof as long as u clean the carbon off the engine regularly.. once u start modding u need to have very good setting for the bike and well balanced tuning.

The fact that SP have so much problem is that alot of parts are modded and not tuned properly to match the upgrade. 2 stroke engines are very delicate and sensitive haha.

Actually that one also depend wat kinda track la.. if u talk abt technical track whole day corner de of course cannot fight.. but when it comes to bigger tracks with more straights then 250 sure cannot keep up.

Talking abt being more practical naturally a 4stroke 400 will be better la.. its like u can use it for street , top speed , touring , track etc

I dun think ppl like to go tour with their 2stroke cruising at 140km/h all the way for 200km bah lol.. talk abt 2T and petrol is a big headache liao. Whereas a 4 stroke 400cc would be able to adapt better to the various situations

I believe ppl who agrees that pgm is a problematic bike are

a)either ppl who never rode it before and probably 'hearsay' from others..

b)or some of them were so unlucky to have purchased a bad condition bike and so being unaware of the thrill a pgm has, they gave up on it..

Bro to each his own, but please duncome talking about 2t or petrol.....its a track bike not a street bike.

I agree that 2strokers not good in top speed, loses in terms of fuel consumption etc, but please 2strokers are not a source of sarcastism.....we are just like u trying to like wat we like......think it from this viewpoint for once; there will be things we lose or win.....but the one that sees all as part of the cycle has make himself a more likable person...........and forgive me if i put it this way...the structure of SG roads doesnt allow u to so called cruise as we have a lot of traffic lights.....so from stationery, who do u think will do better...your CBR? or maybe even just a NSR150? Think b4 u tell me.......relax cheers to u

Yeah.. well-said!! haha..

anyway, no matter wad, i still believe the fastest 2A bikes for tracks are still the 2-strokers.. be it any track.. the 2-strokers will lead all the way.. provided u dun ask a full modded 400 to compare with a stock 250s la.. haha..

Well.. on the 2T sides, i admit its dirty.. but i dun see it as a burden.. cos for a 400.. example super4.. u'll need 4 bottles of EO.. unlike 250s.. 1 bottle is more than enuff.. and lets say for me, i change EO every mth.. and i use an avg of 2 bottles of 2T / mth.. overall, i would say, i save more on maintaining a 2-stroke..

that's the ex part... clutch. B'cos is a dry clutch so wear and tear is super fast ( if you are those who like to lunch fast or track user) . most of the bike on the road have is very load tin, tin.... sound , if you clutch is in good condition is not loud at all.

Mm.... i got one friend bought pgm 3 and install dry clutch...

Any difference between wet and dry...

hum... change from wet to dry. Then he must have change the engine block! I dun think is a straight plug and play thing. Unless he seal the oil from entering the clutch basket area.....but i dun think so it will work. Pgm3 also have dry clutch model but i think is very rare...SP model.

May I know wat is the fastest speed ur PGM 3 Had Reach???

It depends on what is in the bike. Stock pgm3 with only HRC exhaust, can be slightly more than 190km/hr

PGM, u really need a good mechanic that knows the bike well,

even if the settings are wrong, the bike cant start and cant run,

setting, jetting all this plays big parts with this bike..

Pgm's have alot of different modifications that can be done,

each modification adds afew horsepower to the bike.

if the rider really goes and study the bike well and learn how the modifications are to be done, the bike will definately beat 400cc modded bikes as well..

just my knowledge of 250cc.

well always wanted to get a 250 pgm, got a 600cc instead.

who know, i just might wanna get that dream 2stroke bike.

just my 2cnts

Posted

Yeah yeah.. i totally agree on ur mechanic part.. thats the most crucial part to determine ur bike can fly or not? haha.. if its well tuned, i wuld say 400cc gonna have a hard time trying to catch up..
