toking about 07 models.....cbr600 is the best followed by R6. toking about on track, i can say cbr6 has almost all the advantages. tip top handling, power is there. it has the best weight to power ratio. the lightest 600 among its competitor. one of the best fuel consumption 600. and another good thing about honda, they focus not only on track, but also comfort when street ride. try sitting on an r6...den on a cbr. u decide. ask mr crumbs. he from dis forum too. he riding a stock cbr600 07. very fast with the stock.of coz, he's a skill rider lah. see cbr600 07 thread...sumone put a link there on a video on board cbr1000 pacing a cbr600 07 at PG. See the response of that stock cbr6 07 exiting the corners....impressive

for 08 models i cant comment yet as i dunno how the new r6 08 and K8 perform. As for cbr600 08...there's no change except for paintwork.

Looks:

What is considered good? What may be good to me, may not necessary be good to you. Looking good or not can be very subjective.

Performance:

Are you riding on the road or on the track? Even on track, how often? If you belong to the majority, then you won't really be needing much of the capabilities of the modern 600cc sport bikes.

IMO, any 600cc sport bike would do. It's just a matter of what colour you like. Be it red, blue, yellow or green.

So maybe I can consider a Hyosung GT650R then. Performance not important ma, tio bo? U dun need a bike that can brake well, overtakes fast, give u adrenaline rush. I spend 20k on a bike that looks good only, but cannot perform.

So when 1 day I wan to go track, I realise e bike totally cannot make it, then I comfort myself by saying "aiyah i only come track once in a blue moon"?

Dun talk kok leh, u spend 20k on something u better make sure it performs, makes u happy in every aspect. If I spend 20k on something that just moves and looks good I rather buy a Rolex or Raymond Weil, or maybe Tag Heuer for e youngsters. There are just too many jokers like u out there in e forum giving prep talks but when u really get a bike urself u headache like these poor chaps.

for 600cc, althought i don ride any of them.. i prefer r6 06 or above. looks fierce and sexy..cbr6 is cool with undersit exhaust...gsx6..hmm.. i don like the headlight, maybe some like it.. some info from my friends riding 600s, most of the 600s(talking about r6, gsx6,cbr6) don have much of a diff in performence, less the out look.

get a bike u fall in love of your first sight. go with your heart:thumb:

600cc class i find tat suzuki and yamaha nt bad.. dun really like honda as i heard alot about their fuel injection problem.. r6 is nice n sexy.. but it dosen't have gear indicator like suzuki.. btw kawasaki also nice.. but ex.. =)

i've never heard any of complaints about Honda's injector problems.

well said man MSF67...well said! dun say until skill rider la...a lot of riders are far quicker. i'm just average. :)

well, to put in simply, just flip thru EVERY bike mag since last year with a 600cc group test and see who always comes up tops. :thumb:

true that everyone has their own opinions but when a majority of 'everyone' (aka bike mag testers) rates the CBR as the cream of the crop, then that says something.

All the bikes mentioned are track bikes, so for mortals like us, we probably wun be able to ride the bikes to their limits and exploit their advantages. so whether u own an R6, CBR, GIXXER or Kawa. it makes no real difference at all. We're talking about milli-second difference on the race track here. At our level (riding on the street), it all comes down to looks, everyday user-friendliness and whether u're a Hayden, Rossi, De puniet or Vermuleun fan.

Then again, the CBR has always been rated as the most street /user friendly bike......wow...top on the track and on the road...is it a coincidence?? haha

p.s: btw MSF67, i dropped a tooth on my front sprocket, now exiting corners is even more of a blast!

wahahahahaha...drop a tooth up front??? 520 with AFAM? i've tried that with my 03, with 520DID ERV chain and AFAM sprockets. it makes lots of diff. i wonder how much diff it makes on an 07...hehe...i still hav my 03 chain and sprockets. which is AFAM front 15 and rear 42, with gold DID erv 520 chain. hmmm...if i'm not wrong, our stock 07 is front 16 and rear 41. haha...so if i use back my old set from my 03, i'll be dropping 1 tooth front raise 1 tooth rear...isnt dat gonna be a blast....hahahahaha....but i wonder if it will stress the eng too much.

Now I've got a question:

Would a 750 be better than that of the 600. I was wondering whether the extra 150cc would provide riders the extra oomph in the pickup (and torque) department?

Pretty keen to give the Gixxer 750 a try one day :hungry:
