Yes, mate - currently the are 9w, 15w, 24w 35w & 55watt ballast in the market. The common ballast is 35watt & all their bulbs are not interchangeable, 15watt bulb must use 15watt ballast.

From looking at it i can see that the mounting for the bulb is not there as soldering is needed and a new amp connecter is also needed " you can't use a normal wire connecter bercause 2300volts are going in to the HID bulb a little short circuit it would even kill you. i would advice you go to shops like limbat and so on as they have they tools and equipments to make you HID the perfact one.

my bike using h7 connector but currently i have a projector light fix on my bike and is using the H3 bulb.

do u sell the HID for h3 4300k inclusive of installation and using the oem h7 connector. i tink need to use h7 connector to the ballast and h3 connector out to the projector h3 bulb rite? or izzit possible to modify my h3 holder to fit h7 so next time when i fix my oem headlight i can use the h7 connector.

Sorry, for the late reply - i was travelling. U hv a unusal setup but since both are single filament bulbs - no issue to connect no need to change the connectors - H3 uses a single tab & the other is ground. Yes, we do stock the HID H3 in 4300kelvin color.

Will HID melt the lens reflector or anything? How's the load on the battery and is there a minimum batt size?

HIDs does not melt Headlamp casing - they run cooler & brighter than Halogens. Digital HIDs ignite at below 10amps then drop to 3.2amps - Halogen uses 6.5amp constant. Regular 2B bike battery should not be a problem.

is Paiseh and Limbat still around....or anyone noe how to install HID on X1, i can't seems to able start the HID when the cable is plug in to the headlight plug, but on the hand, i can start when i take the connection from the ignition key cable. my bikes is using AC cdi.

Hi all, I've been on my 2nd set of HIDs since last posted here. And if anyone is interested in HIDs, my advice is please don't waste your time if you do not have projectors.

 

Firstly, the headlight reflectors were never designed to run on HID, which means the light will be shooting in all kinds of direction which it shouldn't. Some bikes have reflectors that focus the HID better than others which spread it all over, but the bottomline is if it does not have a projector, it will not work properly.

 

Secondly, loss of hi-beam. Some H4 HID bulbs come with a small halogen bulb to act as a hi-beam, IT IS NOT ENOUGH. The HID is very bright and the yellowish halogen bulb light CMI as a hi-beam beside the HID.

 

Thirdly, It is dangerous when you do not have a stronger hi-beam than low beam. Because of the bright headlight drivers will mistaken you as very near when u are still very far, but when they can't see u in their blindspot and changelane, you can't Hi-beam properly. This is from experience.

 

Fourth, It is a MYTH that when using a HID kit with conventional lenses, it is enough to adjust/lower the headlight. It is NEVER ENOUGH. Because when using this setup, light will still shoot up high beyond the adjusting capabilities of the headlight adjusting mechanism.

 

Fifth, It causes glare to over road users NO MATTER WHAT U DO. Unless you have projectors. The whole world will hate you. It's already enough to have assho1e riders and drivers OTR, if you install a HID w/o proj, it makes you a CHEAP assho1e. (If you feel offended, this is the single most justified reason why lawmakers do not allow HID locally.)

 

 

 

Having transited from noobish HID user to a more informed user, i will share the pro's of the projector mated to HID. I am using a replica BMW E46 projector headlight. The differences are:

 

1. Light is saturated where you want it and beautiful cutoff. Nothing above the level where you are pointing and all the light focused below.

 

2. If you think your HID is very bright, the projector makes it even better plus in the right places.

 

3.No glare, as the cutoff is very straight and defined, you will not shoot other drivers in the eyes unless upslope which even original car HID proj system does the same.

 

4.Hi-beam. The Hi and low beam shares the same light but top half the light is blocked by a flap(metal piece) in low-beam position and rotates to unblock in hi-beam. The flap is controlled by a electro-magnet system which works super fast like a camera shutter. Instant Hi-beam camera-like flash when you hit the button, as compared to if u install HID in hi-beam and it takes 10-30secs to startup.

 

 

 

 

 

 

All in all, if you want to spend some money to make yourself see and be seen better, might as well go all the way and install a projector. The projector costs as much as one side of HID. So instead of installing two HIDs for dual headlights, you are far waaay better off installing only one side with projector for the same total costs. And please use only projector with mechanical hi&low beam system, not those low beam only.

i agree with you. projectors for HID. but i am damn sure many pple are happy when their HID light throws everywhere.. irritating the road users in front of them.

If I connect the hid to my key ignition n ground it, I got no problem firing up. My fren say the bike is using AC supply for the head light.

Hi, regarding your problem most HID kits only run on 10+ to 19v DC. I doubt it will work on AC.

 

What you can do is to install the HID kit directly to battery and add a relay inbetween. The relay has two input poles which you can connect to the existing headlight power. What this does is when u turn on the bike and the power goes to the headlight which is redirected to the relay. Then the relay turns on the switch for the HID to tap power directly from the DC battery source.
