Questions:

A) Do we really have to remove aftermarket parts, such as exhaust? It will be rather costly, and the owners may not even have the original part anymore.

B) When will the event be held? I'll attend if it is after I return to Singapore.

1. To provide riders who had been riding in PG circuit, but never raced before at all, so is to let them have some experience & exposure to racing in a circuit. Min criteria for this is that riders must have at least ridden in the pg circuit & knows the track layout. Pls take note that event such as this is not like our regular 5 lap challenge. This is a serious event however, not that challenging to newbies.

Wow. I'm speechless sir.

Having had my first taste on what the racing environment was like (participated in the Feb trackday 5-lap race), I dunno man.

As how one of the wisemen put it into words, I opened myself up to a constant emergency situation by blasting my bike thru like that... and scrubbing my tyres through corners away from daily consciousness.

I thought I must've gone crazy that day but I didn't tell anyone. :giddy:

Although this is a so called 'SG Bike Forum' event, but I'll like to take this opportunity to teach our newer riders:

a. racing in a sanctioned race environment, with SMSA competition licenses,

h. rules & regulations in a track

Thumbs up for your efforts!

Ay carra...It has been quite some time since I hit the tracks. Afraid i may have forgotten everything. Let me think about it aite?

Also, RESPECT, :thumb: to ya.

As with what your nick is, i'll owe you that one just for participating.

As I'm a past racer myself, I know racing involves a lot of money. I'd like to make racing for those ppl who got passion, but have some financial budget, So I'd suggest doing something like a sports production class, which means everything is stock, except tyres, brakes, rearsets & suspension is open.

Safety gears like leathers, full-face helmets, gloves n racing boots is a must have.

SMSA License is needed too.

Hope to see more response on this.

Thks, guys.

smsa??? how do we get?

hai..i nd to ask dis..last time wen i play at pg dere didnt ask for SMSA lic.. but i nvr play for track day lah..izit must have?? sorry if silly question..hope u all don mind..:giddy:

I'm assuming an SMSA license is needed because pgmivnsr may be planning to integrate this into the Johor Clubman Race race. And yes, this is an actual race with a twist -- catered for us all only.

Has been discussed by our track seniors before. Maybe for our country's (sp.) identity perhaps?

Aargh...what the heck, I'm in.

(Subject to bike being track-worthy and availablilty; hope moddie can wait)

The Class 2 category needs to be split into 600cc and 1000cc classes. Won't be fair to pit a 600 against 1000.

den 750 leh??? :giddy:

easier if its 400cc and below one category, and 401cc and above one category.. cos small 2-strokes still can compare with 400cc 4 strokes on track.. 600cc and 1000cc still comparable at PG..

if the date suits me, count me and my friend in.. add super4 and rxz to the list..

How about classifying the bikes WSB style, with twins getting a higher capacity allowance? For example, the 600cc - 750 cc class would be 600cc (3-cylinder and 4-cylinder) to 750 (2-cylinder). An inline-4 750 has a significant advantage over an inline-4 600, I think.

well, the organizer can always choose to do ;

1) capacity series, etc; 100cc-200cc, 200cc-400cc, 500-700cc ,800cc - 1000cc

2) Categories of type.

but yet again this is a frendly and supposed to be an education race not a SS series ......

read the quotes earlier stateds by the forumers lah before makin a post.

hope these helps...

err 150cc 2stroke cannot compare with 250cc leh

400 and 250 can i belive

A KR150 can easily hit 170 kmh on the back straight.

A 250cc 2 stroker can easily do more than that.

I have been on the tracks long enough to know what they can do.

A modified DRZ400SM can only manage 170 kmh down the back straight and probably lap PG around 2.07 on the average plus minus one or 2 seconds.

If this be the case... to be fair to the supermotards... they should have a class of 400cc and below and another class of 400 and above.

Dear Guys:

I really thks for all your responses.

I shall answer all yr enquiries to the best of my abilities.

Sports production class:

This is a stock class in which my intention is for those riders who had ridden in the track for quite sometime, but have budget constraints. I'm a rider myself, therefore I understand how hard is it sometimes as a privateer. My intention is to help these ppl who have the passion for the sport. However, safety issues must not be compromised, tat's y I've no restrictions for items such as tyres, brakes, rearsets, suspensions. However, to race in a sports production class, engine bore x stroke must be stock. Cams stock. CDI stock. No carb mods, No power commanders, no piggybacks, no ECU / CDI change. No exhaust system change. Manifolds/headers, mid-pipe, muffler as per manufacturer's specification.

Categories

The categories had not been confirmed yet, therefore, pls be a bit patient as i need to see the response. I can't be organising a class with only 5 bikes on e grid. Pls rest assured that I'll be fair to all riders / participants in terms of classification. My initial thought is for those who had take part in clubman / MSS (especially those who had podium before) will definately be in the open class, while those 1st time racing or ridden in less than 3 races before will be in the Novice class.

Licensing & insurance

A SMSA license is a must as this is a sanctioned event. PG will provide marshall, track & safety, AAM will provide a steward while SMSA representative such as myself will be there to make sure everything run well in your administration, scrutineering, safety...etc. A rider also needs to buy a race insurance of $160. It may sound expensive, but these insurance will cover you during your racing & track practice too. If 'touch wood', you will get medical coverage in terms of $$. Pls dun use AIA, AXA... etc personal insurance. These insurance does not cover racing /or riding/ practicing in a track.

Safety

Safety must not be compromised as this is a sanctioned event under the FIM sporting Codes, which means full face helmets, suits, boots & gloves is a must. No need to have a very fanciful suit, but as long as it's a suit & can protect you, it's ok.

I know e above information may be hard for some to swallow, but these are what a rider have to go thru if he really serious & interested in racing.

Therefore pls continue putting ur name as of below to let me at least have a feel on hw's the response is like. N pls be serious, as i do not want anyone to put name just for fun. This will not only affect my planning, but also affect those who are serious as well. Pls dun forget your contact no as well.

Last but not least, since this is a Sgbikes forum event, I may discuss with SG bikes forum regards some extra prize + throphies for the winners.

Thks
