False advertising is what is bugging me now. I received a Courts Megastore pamphlet stating a 37 inch LCD TV selling for only $599 which to me is a very good bargain. So I went there with my family to have a look with the intention to buy it as well.

 

When I arrived there, I was told that the TV on offer is an Olevia brand which to me is OK. What made me see red was that Courts had jacked up the price to $888 with an added 3 year warranty on top of the normal 2 years. Changed my mind on buying it cos it was over my budget. Felt cheated and pissed off cos I made a wasted trip there. NBZ...

 

lol for ur info im working in Courts and yes i myself am pissed with the promotion coz we're just the sales person and we get flamed coz the main top people advertise it in such a way.

 

Courts is one big Megastore that has failed to win my trust in their promo...

Did you use a machine to test or the doctor used the old fashion way of using the stethoscope and the machine with mercury in it?

 

Was told by my boss's father-in-law's doctor that the machine isn't too accurate to take the BP. I brought it up with the doctor 'cos the machine's reading was higher. That was at Bukit Batok Polyclinic

 

I am using my own Omron Automatic digital BP monitor "machine" to check,

ever bring my machine to the clinic to compare with my doctor old fashion mercury machine, the readings was very near.

Singapore buses.....gggrrrrrr....its takes me about an hour & half to reach the workplace, with changing 4 buses and walking like 1/2 km per walk.

 

I walk to work, takes me 45 minute.

 

I take taxi, cost me $6/-

 

I hate my injury. The rigt hand still wont lift anything heavy or even turn properly or grip anything!

My advice to you is to never buy a cheap or unknown brand, especially for essential or big-ticket items. Spend more for a trusted brand and you're assured the warranty and quality of the product.

 

U get an el-cheapo God-knows-what-fiak brand TV.... and you get sub-standard color and image quality, pixel response time, build quality, and manufacturer warranty. I'd plonk down more for something from Sharp, LG, or Samsung. You can get a 32" Sharp Aquos (perhaps not the latest model) for under $1000 these days if you take a look around. Better than stuff from Paladine, Olevia, Akira, or whatnot. It's a MIJ panel at least. And yes... pay extra for that warranty. 'Cos if your TV goes wacko on you after the 1st year, and you don't have warranty, you pay for expensive repairs, or buy a new one. It's that simple.

Good sound advice, Deus. However, I'm restrained to a budget. Had I not spend $480 on changing my R1 rectifier and burnt coil, definitely I would have gone for a branded one. I used Akira products before and they have a standard usage life of around one year to one and a half years. My 2 Akira DVD players and 14 inch TV lasted around that long before going kaput on me.

 

However, I'm not sore with the brand cos I bought them cheap. To me, paying cheap and the products lasted that long is OK. Since I bought it cheap so I can't expect the products to last forever. Currently, I'm using a 42inch Palladine plasma TV in my hall. For what I've paid, I'm happy with the picture quality and though it has been almost a year and nine months, the TV is still OK and not giving me any problems.

 

So when I intended to buy that Olevia 37 inch LCD TV for $599, I expected it to last at least a year and a half or at most two years. After that period, if it breaks down, I'll just sell it off to the karang guni man and get a new TV. No point sending it for repair cos I hate the hassles of waiting, paying for transport and whatnot where repairs are concerned...

Its been 2 weeks since i had my eye surgery.. and every time i cleanse my eyes using d solution they gave.. my eye lashes keep dropping... its really bugging me.. coz i guess in a mnth or so, i wil be left with no eyelashes!!!! its a pain for me coz my eyelashes r my best assets since every1 i meet.. atleast 90% of them nv fail to comment on my long curvy eyelashes.... arghhhhhhhhhh... haiz

 

I guess in cases like this...

 

You win some, you lose some...

 

This is a fine example of the saying...

Just got Home... this morning I met an Accident in AYE ... nothing much my brake level break so when to bike shop and replace it.. I bang on the tail of a car. He's a nice person, he just take down my name , contact & my Insuance number... nothing much on his car as well, just need some paint work.
