Hi afi_kc, don't worry it's normal: it's your fuel gauge.

It lights up when your fuel goes beyond a certain level in your tank.

On the Pulsars, this gauge is not very reliable.

for example, on my P200, when the red light goes ON, I usually have still 250km before I go to reserve. Reserve takes me another 80km.

But this varies of courses depending on the speed you ride with, the load on your bike, the age of the bike etc etc, so don't take this as precise measures !

 

What I suggest you do: note your meter value (or use your trip meter) and see how much you can ride until the fuel runs out. When it does, you will feel a drop of power when throttling, and the bike "coughing" maybe jerking.

Safely stop by the side of the road (you will have time don't worry!), and turn your tank lever (left side of the tank) to RESERVE.

 

From there, you should be able to ride quite a bit before your petrol is finished. Maybe you can do 30 km-40km then top up fully. Don't forget to put the tank lever back to ON position !

 

Next time the red light appears again, do the same process.

 

After 2-3 times, you will have a good notion of how much mileage you can do once the red light is ON, and you will be able to manage your fuel easily

Saw the new version CBR150 at a traffic signal today. It looks huge like a class 2 bike, especially the tank, the only giveaway are the tyres and chain/sprockets

 

Now I know why Bajaj had to come up with the 200NS, with the all new CBR150/250 and the Yamaha FZ16/R15, the current pulsar looks quite dated. The pulsar 200NS will make them the market leader again

Moved my house to Tampines St 43. Now no more expressway to office. I would say, expressway, even if the distance is lot more is a much easier ride. Normal roads, due to the signals, even though the distance is like 1/3rd the time taken is same. Also requires better riding skills and worst part is need to inhale the smoke from other cars/bikes, which I hate

You'll definitely become more balanced, more aware, and also, more stressed haha..not to mention consume more fuel. But the expressway can be unforgiven if something happens whereas in traffic usually you'll get fender benders at most.

Be careful, spidersenses at all times, just enjoy the ride, put on the sunglasses and pity these drivers stuck in their big cars while you slowly make your way to the front of the light queue
