@Hydher please do not ask riders to let go of the handle bar' date=' and @eddicted don't do that at 80km/h on the highway. Guys, use your brains...and if that's too hard to do, at least do not advertise your lack of common sense.

Sorry for the harsh words but seriously.. this is the dumb stuff that puts people's lives in danger.

Was in the same situation as you. A few of us actually, were itching to switch their P200 for the new NS.

Honestly, if you want to gain more speed or certain comfort at a higher speed, it's not worth it IMHO. If a class2 is not on the table for you in the near future, then I would advise you use the P200 until the bike dies its natural death. Understand the look, and even the overall performance of the NS are a catch, but it is still a 200cc bike. Rides above 100 or 110 are not its comfort zone and over time will put stress on the engine for sure. This bike is happy between 80 and 100 maybe 105 km/h. You want to be able to comfortably ride between 100-120, upgrade.

I know exactly your situation as I said I have been looking into switching to a NS for months. In the end, I decided that to gain maybe 5-10km/h of speed was not worth the money. But, this is just a humble opinion, important thing is you're happy when riding the bike ! :) And maybe if you'll be riding a 2B bike for a few more years, then yeah, switching makes sense :thumb:

To each her own. :)

Im on ape hangers and I work on my bikes myself

Oren, Let go handlebar doesnt mean like completely lift your hands. Its like take if off about 2 cms away from the handlebars and for like couple of secs and then grab it back. I think anyone who has ridden a bike has also ridden a bicycle in the past and we have all let go off our hands while riding(if you have not, you have seriously missed your childhood :) ). Letting go off hands from handlebars completely on a motorcycle like that is of course crazy and I think everyone understands this :)

Rev, you get what I meant I'm sure.. Safety ambassador and all.. Of course most of us have let go of their hands, I had a phase where for some reason stoping at a traffic light with both hands off was my daily drug. But between doing it and asking others to, or saying it's a way to diagnose a default, there's a jump there I'm not super keen on. I get they were talking on/off in seconds kind of thing of course, but yeah, on a highway, rainy days, a half second inattention or tensed body and mind can be dangerous.

Maybe I'm just getting older and more of a pain in the neck, but think about it: most of the people who read this thread are new riders, and it's to us to give the right example and kind of be good role models for them to be safe at all times on their bikes :)

Thanks will try

Ok thanks, its kinda expensive too so I shall not consider it anymore. I did free hand, so it engine brakes frm 80 down no wobbling, going steadily straight but handlebars shaking left n right violently frm the pulsar vibrations.

Only accelerating at high speeds will feel abit slippery, cld it be tires too new? My fren used to tell me nt to change both tires at once as they is a layer of gel fresh frm factories. Aft awhile it will wear off, tats the closest I can troubleshoot.

Plus the rear heavier den the front with my box and the oncoming wind strong on the highway.

I bought those rubber grips b4 frm planet for my previous bike, rly good, soft n comfortable. But bmw $25 still affordable. Dun mind trying.

When's the nxt btwo?

i finally getting used to my dts180, managed to hit 90 just now, hope to hit 100 on highway. The wobbling issue did not surface! yay! i think its rly due to new tires being too slippery, 1 week of riding ltr makes it more seasoned. Maybe its engine condition too, kept in storage for too long at UM, im like seasoning it now.

Hello sorry was busy riding. hehehe.

Ok great to know its getting better for you.

Find it rather contradicting that your handlebars were shaking yet you still can go straight.

Grip your tank hard with your knees when doing it. If it wobbles immediately, a good chance its the steering cone.

But is it leaning to a certain left or right in particular is what you should be looking out for too.

About the tires, changing as a pair is ok but if im not mistaken, for the first 500km at least, dun trust on the grips for a lean.

Yes you are right about the layer. It requires a run in period.

Here are the list that you can do.

Were the tires and rims balanced when you changed it?

Check your engine oil level on the dipstick(too much, too little? when was it last changed and of what viscosity? 10w40 is a generally great all rounder oil)

Check your rear wheel if its aligned.

forward to 15mins to get a rough idea but i suggest you get a competent mechanic to do it because you need to slacken the rear wheel axle before adjusting.

Your chain is a very important part of your motorcycle. Put it on e main stand and Inspect the sprockets for wear and abnormalities of the chain. Use kerosene or wd40 on a rag for cleaning. Off the shelves, ipone sand chain or chain spray is great.(race werks)

Hi O'Ren.

Thanks for the good advice !! :D

That definitely make a lot of sense .. hmm I think just like what Alvinyansg pointed out, I may be really disappointed.

And furthermore, it's not like my P200 is not a goodbike.

I do think about upgrading to 2A first before.

But cant decide it coz I'm asking myself honestly if that's where i want to go. I'm not really a super fast rider.

My first bike is Honda NSR SP. I experienced riding slightly faster but it was dangerous.

And in the end I switched down to pulsar 200 (also reason is becoz SP give me too many problems, too much money spent)

Im a big sucker for wanting cool and fast bikes (Dreaming la)

but need to honestly ask myself to waste to money or not.

Goner consider further ...

Thanks for the good advice :) :)

@Kakikukeko I never upgraded to 2A because no bike really caught my eye. Until recently the Honda 400X :) It's exactly what I need: not too much but a bit more power, still good FC (it's very hard to pay for petrol when you get used to Pulsar FC!), and to me, also great looking bike. But I've had my license 2A for years and did not upgrade because wasn't feeling it with the other bikes. I'm also not into speed (I'm a chicken I get scared easily).

Regardless of whether you can afford it or not, to me buying a bike is about wanting it so bad you can't get it out of your head until you have it haha.. So if that's the case for you on the NS, go ahead, and it will be a better feel than the P200. Just not a huge difference, but still. If the heart is happy, the ride is a happy one too!

Love the way you put it ! xD

Yea the NS stuck to my head lol.

Im still realistic yup, of course im not expecting a huge jump from P200 to NS200

it's like a good bonus that comes with the looks.

UM is the sole agent. No others shop have spare parts. If u sent your bike to other shops, u will have even longer time to wait coz they will still go UM to buy parts.
