Hi all, i have a Q. I've been riding my S4 Spec2 for almost 4mths now and it seems to be having a little problem.....Filling up full tank ( 17Litres ), my bike can only clock 220km and its already down to reserve! Its a pain to hear others clocking more than 300++km on their S4....I've just changed 1) Spark plugs 2) K&n Air filter 3) Oil filter and engine oil and even fix on REV-TEC just to see if theres any changes....but everything's the same..220km and it hit reserve!!!

Apreciate if you could advise me on what you think is the problem!!

go get ur bike tuned by reputable shops like k&t, racewerks, etc... get ur bike tuning checked.. the tuning is more important than any of those u changed to help in the mileage..

[Q] Would anybody care to enlighten me on what is the difference between the Spec I, II, III, S and R versions of the S4 (apart from it coming out at differet times).

 

For e.g. I hear that the S version is really fuel economical, from 26 - 30km/l!!

and some versions have VTEC. Hrmz.

Wow...tis qn has been asked quite a number of times...verS came out aft PB1 no vtec in this engine. Ver R is a rare ride and wat i've heard is the upgraded version of verS..Spec I, II, III all have vtec but each ride opens at different rpm..

Spec I, vtec opens at 7000rpm,

Spec II, vtec opens at 6300rpm,

Spec III, vtec opens at 6350rpm for first 5 gears, and 6750rpm for 6th gear...

Perhaps u cud change ur riding style...if u always whack and open vtec valves everytime u change gear, u can say bye2 to ur good fuel consumtion..

hi guys, any1 know how install a givi windshield?? e.g need 2 take out wat coz i wan 2 diy.

 

where can i get a full set of screw for the windshield n roughly how much??

anyway, i install a voltmeter on my current s4.

 

The problem is, when i'm in cruising mode, the voltmeter only shows 12.7v maximum. When engine braking, the rpm increases, thus the voltmeter also increases to 13.1 and gradually decrease till 12.0v when i come to stop.

 

previously my s4 can hit 13.9v while cruising. Isit the rectifier/battery/spark plug problems?

 

pls enlighten.. thanks..

anyone can enlighten me how to reset trip on spec3 everytime after we pump petrol ???

 

Press and hold the left control button till it resets. Should be around 2-3 secs

white signal light casing cover $7 per piece for spec 3 [THREE]

 

at LAB.. i just got 4 of them recently..

 

different spec got different type of casing coz the shape is not the same

look out for rusty parts, response of bike, hear the engine for knocking sound.. check stability of bike. check sprocket/chain, tyre wear & tear, check if alignment is out by riding it and then let go to freehand

hi can anybody tell me what is the parts to buy if i want to service front fork? hw many seals and what type of fork oil and where to buy>? also the amount of fork oil to put in?

go bike shop service ur fork better, save ur effort n time, save the environment too as they dispose the unwanted oil the properly

Hi bros...i've ever read that we cud tighten our headsets? coz my ride's steering seems loose until sumtimes corner wif no confidence..but wen i ride @ 110km/h, let go handlebar, my bike doen't headshake...nid to change cone bearing or juz tighten it? Cone bearing last changed last yr ard july..

do check you bearings from the cone bearing and wheel bearing.

install damper? i believe s4 handling is lidat.. Tried my fren's sport bike, it's totally diff.. Guess street bikes aren't meant for steep cornering unless u can train both ur arms to be live damper.. ;) ;)

agree with you that s4 are not meant for steep cornering.

but end of the day, its the rider tat counts it all! :)
