Hi all.

My gn which I just finished 'modding', well at least until i source for some spoke rims, but I guess this is about 95% done.

Just some background.

Got this bike from a friend who let me have it as a subrider. It's a china made gn. Had and still has some mechanical problems, mainly carb problems. And has a top speed of 85kph on straights but i guess that's fine, considering I'm still p plate. :D

Original idea was to turn it into smth like tw200 with an orange paintjob but decided to change the concept due to budget constraints.

Seat was done at Eugene's saddlery. Two thumbs up to him. Really nice guy who is really dedicated to his craft. Sadly got some cat scratches two days after doing the seat. ....

Thanks to hatosan for his insights too. Dude when you wanna take the handlebar? :D

Guys, hoping that this thread is still alive. Currently riding a GN125 but made in china.8 years old bike and recently when i went to change my engine oil, was told that my engine eats up the oil. Was contempllating to re-bore to as what the mechanic advised. Please advise as i know nuts about this.

Duke, is your exhaust smoking a lot? If it's not smoking, it means your pistion rings or valve seals are OK. a little burnt up engine oil is normal for old bikes. a rebore is usually expensive as well. Your engine gaskets could be leaking or the output shaft oil seal could be worn as well. Check around the ground for any oil patches.

If you have already decided to go with a rebore, make sure the valve seals are changed and the valves lapped as well. Tell your mech, he'll understand.

How's it hanging everyone. Anyone wanna recommend me a shop to go to? I've got tyres, brakes, and a whole bunch of stuff I need to change.

One more thing. My engine rattles when it's revving high. Any idea what's the problem? Is it time for an overhaul?

Im looking for a shop too.i went to a shop at av as ive seen them rebuild a gn before but when i went there, they asked me to change a lot of stuff.trying to squeeze every single dollar out of me. Then i got to know that planet motors at ubi there rebuild old bikes.when i went there, they are just too busy.was quoted 200 bucks for overhaul. Recently my friend told me a shop at sin ming.yet to check it out.

hi mate, wanted to get a GN but end up with a EN instead...

Newer verison of the GN but made in China...

Just got it 2 day ago in terrible condition but done it up liao ...lol

I think China have some oem parts that are able to use on GN (I tink eN or GN all sama sama all compitable...)

Well was told the parts won't last long but if cheap cna tahan for 2 yrs+ y nt...lol

Hence brought the EN as i can find almost every parts on the bike...lol\

Planet Motor Ah Chong is good... damn good so can rest assure to put yr bike there....

or try Republic Motor they are good darn good as welll...

These are the 2 place i frequent, the later more though....

Feel free to buzz me at 96284016....

Combine Motor is a reputable shop also but pricing quite ex sometime....

Try get a full set of piston & block etc etc...

Ain't ex ... China oem ard S$100+ rather than rebore as it will increase fuel consumption & may not last long also....
