chain wax if not apply well will leave gap between and rush will build up from there without you knowing it... :slapforehead:

Clear type chain sprays(that claims no flings.*Pls read disclaimer in below :D) :-

PJ1 Blue Label chain Lube

Repsol Moto chain lube

Fuchs Silkolene chain lube

Fuchs Silkolene Titanium chain Gel

Maxima Synthetic Chain Guard

Bel-Ray Super Clean Chain Lube

I wont say which is the best to prevent conflict of interest.

It will be best if you do a search & read-ups on the products before deciding which you are comfortable with...

imho, maxima chain wax causes the chain to become very dry. i used it a couple of times and stopped cos the lubrication is just not good.

I wanted to buy PJ1, but Ah Boy kept telling me got lots of thinner? He even demonstrated *spray on cardboard paper, let me smell* Then recommeneded me GP1. Is there any basis to his claims? Thinner should have no effect on the chain right?

Wow... Didnt know he can detect what materials are use for manufacturing products using his organs!(Sorry, pun maybe intended...)

So the laboratories may might as well close for good? keheheh...

K, presume maybe he was right? But then again, salesman selling tactics? o_O

dudes.. i think most pple r complainin abt flinging is bcoz they dont apply d chain wax/lube using proper steps. let me share..

1- clean ya chain to get rid of old lube...

coz its mixed wif fine metal dust caused by abrasion btw chain n sprocket

2- warm up chain by riding a few kms (but not carpark)...

warm chain = expand = lube can get in deep into d rollers

3- spray lube on d length of chain BELOW swing arm (inner side of links & rollers)...

1 continous motion from rear to front or vice versa

careful not to spray on rear tyre

4- *impt* wipe/rub d chain wif a clean rag as if like massaging to n fro...

so dat excess is taken away & d outer plates r "coated" too thus preventing rust

5- repeat steps 3 & 4 if necessary or move on to d next length til d entire chain is done..

doesnt really matter wat lube u use. as long as technique is there, sure got little or no flinging. hope diz works for u guys too. gd luck! :D

1 more point to add it, lub need some time to settle.

for wax, better let it settle overnight.

for lub, minimum 2hrs before moving off.

A second of precaution is an hour of safety. It never hurts to ask.

there is no such thing as a chain lubrication that is good n wun fling. to lubricate the chain is to oil it. n with oil ard the chain, its prone to flings n wash away during wet weather. of cos. chain lube manufacturers will claim their product wun attract dust n dirt, fling is minimum n it lubricates the chain well. chain lube is specially formulated so that it can resist wash away as well as hot weather vapourisation. n to resist fling, the oil is extremely sticky as it sticks to the chain. if the oil is sticky, it will attract a minimum amount of dust on the chain.

taking maxima chain guard n chain wax for example. both r oil based. chain guard is thicker n chain wax is thinner. chain guard is not as dry as chain wax when used. but the purpose of lubricating the chain is to have adequate oil ard the chain n to make it as slippery as possible to reduce power loss at the last transmittion.

there is no one size fits all. its either fling resistance but compromise in proper chain lubrication, or have proper chain lubrication with fling depending on how much oil applied.

anyway, my favourite is to use engine oil for chain lubrication. its the best lub though it flings n frequent oiling is required.

Engine Oil! Cuz it keeps the chain clean at the same time. But require reapplication after rain. Cheap too.
