hi, i am a new kr rider. my exhaust pipe has alot of carbon coming out. anyway to clear it? i heard can only go msia do? and my bike need servicing. where normally does you guys recommend?

 

You meant decarbonise? You can do it in SG, try Abboy Motor Racing, went there before, mech was patient in explaining what he does and also he knows his stuff definitely. Shiofuki will be going there for full service soon, probably join us together?

The race mechanic for my Y125Z??? I still cannot understand, up till today, how he can modify and tune that little engine so good that I can clock faster lap times on it at Tuas than on my Husqvarna 510 SMR.

Yeah, afterall one that at least takes the effort to explain to you what is he doing and what is it for, etc.

Haha.. for you guys he will explain.

 

For me.. he will just tell me that he is the mechanic and I am the rider and I don't need to know so much. My job is to think and concentrate on the racing and his job is to make the bike go faster.

 

 

He will watch the way I ride at the track and listen to the tone of the exhaust when I am upshifting the gears and then come and tell me that he is going to make the bike go faster but won't tell me what he is doing to it.

 

He sometimes makes adjustments to the carb slide or change the main or air jet or after looking at the spark plug or even cut a few links from the chain to shorten the wheelbase and my lap times will go down the next time out on track.

 

I don't change my gear shifting points, nor the braking, acceleration or linings through the corners.. I ride them all the same and yet the timing can come down...it only tells me that the bike is really accelerating faster from point to point on the straights.

Ah, great to hear that. That's why i went there once though and was kinda impressed as well. Recommended a friend there to do full servicing soon to see how it goes.

This Saturday, 31 Oct come down to Tuas track after 10 AM. I will be practicing on my Y125Z... so I can pace you and see how you ride.

 

I would like to see how fast you ride the Tuas track. Currently helping Abboy Motor Racing to look for another rider to ride the other race modified Y125Z in the Novice races next year.
