hi , i currently working for D*S bank doing credit cards sales... different bank offers different cards for different benefits... here are some examples... for shell petrol- titanium give u 5% discount , citibank dividend gif u cashback on all petrol stn except SPC which everyday card covers for cash rebates for carrefour and sp services... for dining, hold on to UOB credit cards... so black card gif u double points for all purchases... hsbc gif u $1 off for yr GV tickets... as long u earn 30k a yr ( including yr OT , Bonus , allowance) which is process by the bank which the CBS ( credit bureau singapore) check yr credit report . everything for loan , bankruptcy will go through the system.. so depending on yr needs , different cards cater to different ppl......

Debit card may not be the best option available.

but its good for those who do not qualify for a credit card.

in the case of a fraudalent transaction, this is because the point of transaction is when u present the card upon payment. it is up to the card holder to prove that the card details are stolen.

compared to a credit card, the point of trx is at the end of the mth and its btwn the card company and the merchant.

meaning ...

if ppl steal your card details (not your card) and buy something online.

for a debit card, its more troublesome to prove that its a fraud compared to a credit card.

therefore... guard your card details

I only have one Visa credit card from Citibank. The other two are one debit Mastercard from DBS and one Visa Electron card from United Overseas Bank... :)

different card got different discounts for different things, so, not neccessary a card collector if you have many.

I know many sign up for this and that, cos they get discounts for purchases at certain places, but when the "free" annual fee is no more, they just cancel the card.

Just a few days back, I received a call from a representative of ABN AMRO who said that I was one of the selected lucky few to get a free annual fee credit card from the bank. The moment she said that she will send the card and I will be receiving the card in the mail within a few days, I cut her short and said, "Please don't do that. I'm not interested in your credit card". She lan lan said, "Thank you", and hung up the phone... :cheeky:

It seems that this ABN AMRO bank is quite aggressive in marketing their credit card. I've received a few such calls from them for the last 3 months... :giddy:

Having many credit cards doesn't mean anything... i tink it's enough to just

have one or two credit cards...... ultimately, the most important thing to

have is cold hard cash..... otherwise u just sign and sign bt can't pay up also

no point.....

Amex Corp, DBS Visa, DBS Amex, UOB Master, UOB Visa Mini, POSB Everyday... That's about all I have I think...

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

What are the tricks people do to get annual fee waiver? Is it true that everytime u call to cancel the card, the bank will extend the free waiver?

Most of the time yes.....

I always call and ask when they charge me......

Most of the time, they will extend waiver.....

But you must be good customer... pay on time....

That's the trick or rather... open secret already...

dunno wether if u weigh down the pros and cons, at the end of the day, u are at the winning or losing end..:giddy:
