<D> Preventing Theft on your S4?

i guess the owner's key was not on the bike...the theft came in with a 'master key' and override the HISS system??

HISS no use...unless you use the REAL HISS.....snake hahahha. Hmmm I dun think master key can duplicate the keycode in such a fast time. It should be key left on bike case.

By the way, do you think alarm would be good in Msia? i was thinking 2 way alarm plus 2 disc lock... i mean, if they wanna steal, they will just load the whole bike onto a lorry... but my basic configuration should be enough rite?

my 05 fireblade stolen this morning at hotel equatorial KL in front of the hotel driveway. CCTV shows gone in 17 secs. the thief came wit another big bike, sit on mine, start and go...i wonder wats the use of HISS...

yes u r right. locks and alarms are jus to deter theifs from taking ur bike. not to stop them. even if u remove ur starter motor, ppl will still take the WHOLE bike. end of the day, jus be wise and observant to where u park and how u lock your bike. i know the above pic of mine is still not the most fool proof, but its good enough to deter thiefs. like i had said in that post, i'll be getting more padlocks...

ur first post says "start and go"...

ur second post says "footrest-towed..."

 

but given the technology from Honda Japan HISS,

i supposed the thief footrest-towed ur bike more than "start and go".

most probably its a master key but without the chip.

17secs if enuff for a "so-called" pro to use the master key

to unlock ur bike handle lock and footrest-tow it out of the driveway...

 

on the other hand, i dun really trust the HISS system.

sometime back, i read about someone's brand new s4 revo unable to crank start.

after towing the bike back to the bike shop and reset the key chip, then can start...

 

sigh... this tickles me to think how reliable is HISS...

 

so, have u reported loss of bike to ur insurance? hope u can get back some compensation...

after viewing the replay over n over then notice its foot-towed away...sources said my key wit me the bike will nvr be able to start.

n its not masterkey...a sharpened allen key is enough to break the steering lock.

Hi guys, I donno if this helps, but this idea i got from owning my first scooter..very long time ago la..My vespa didn't have a proper key to start the engine.. so the mechanic made a switch which was hidden from evil eyes.. So u have to on the switch first before u put in ure keys to start the bike.. if the switch no On u put the key also no use .. it can't start.. same thing u can do to the S4.. install one small switch well hidden from ppl view.. only u know..it can be done.. I'm having it.. so far had 3 incident my alarm went off in M'sia but bike still around.. maybe I was very lucky.. bike stilll with me.

Suspension off a FBC spec III was stolen yesterday midnight on bukit pangjang multi storey carpark.. friends staying around bukit pangjang pls be extra careful.. mus cover ur bike and install alarm.. and keep a look out for one another.. feel sorry for the owner of the bike..
