tuning for which bike?? at where? care to share? coz also finding somewhere to une my carb for better fc. they used device to tune?

this is a superfour thread so tuning is for superfour, unless u meant for which model. can be done at some famous bikeshop like motoworld,HKL,Unique,KnT.

They have digital devices for tuning...hope this helps.

tat guy said hey.. i not riding s4 but i oso riding a bike which works on Carb. thats y i asked. still cannot decide which to go. haha

s4 uses digital devices for tuning is it? mine's done over a long period of time. something like, the mech tune, then i try riding, then i go back tune again. repeat the whole process.... not sure if it's okay to post the bike shop here, so loyjwe, i pm u the shop name k? :cheeky:

i riding spec 2.

normally once hit 250km, left with one bar. and i pump in abt 12 to 13 L of petrol.. which means im getting abt 22-23km/l of FC. stock pipe.. riding style mostly between 80 to 100 change gear ard 4 to 5rpm. opens vtec abt once a while..

so normally when its reserve the meter will "blink" as in the bar will move from right to left, right to left ( continous) is it?

what do you guys mean by open vtec once in a while ?.

like a few km EVERYDAY

3 days a WEEK

once a MONTH

5 times a YEAR. ?

how often is once in a while...

because i know that it is important to open vtec too..

then i just open vtec everyday..

vtec cruising 7k-8k.. max 9k .. never 10k never redline.

harmful?

For every 7 pounds you lose, you gain one horsepower.

It's subjective, for me,i'll open if i feel like it or mainly depends on road situation. sometimes on the road if you have to overtake (of course safely),this is when vtec comes in need. :)

i also read need to 'open vtec once in a while'.. when i ride, my once in a while is probably once every 3 days, i open vtec for a stretch of no more than 20km. rpm i think i nv hit more than 8k..

Sometimes your riding style also play apart, if you always loves to speed then i guess it is the cause. Choosing your petrol octane also play apart, i normally pump Shell 98 but my milleage is not that good. So i try on Shell 95 slightly better milleage. Surprisingly when i pump Petronas, i get better milleage!!!! I simply can get 360++...

Hey guys' date=' i m a newbie here. Ever since i bought a 2nd spec3 until nw, once my mileage hit 250k it will enter reserve... Why is that so? Can u guys help me with this?[/quote']

Used to experience the same thing.(250km) Improved slightly after a service inclusive of washing and tunning of carb.(270km) (After i install yoshi firespec, the bike felt lighter(as in when u trottle). (290km) I tried different stlye of ridding to compare the FC. (eg) Change gear at 4RPM --> slowly trottle up to 4RPM or rev up fast to 4RPM. I realise when u open up to change gear at a gradually fast style, it provide a better FC. (320km)

Btw, ridding a spec2. gear change at 4 -- 4.5RPM. long dist travel at 99kmh cause spec 2 open vtec earlier. Open V-tech once a while to clear some carbon.(3 days open one time? at least once a week la)

All this result in a 320km per 15litre of petrol.

our s4 18 litres of tank correct?.

that other time i pump the reading read 18.50 litres..

the machine something wrong or.............................................

the story is like this, from town, back to sg, from yishun to wdlands and then to tampoi's petronas, was all runing under reserve tank.....

so i was like thinking, should i travel abit further up, i couldve be swarmped by hungry m'sian's asking for donations.

btw, 18 litres...?. or....18 litres not included reserve tank?

Actually s4 full tank is not 18litres to be exact. Got once I rode till the petrol went totally dry (including reserve). I push my bike to the petrol kiosk and manage to pump 18.8 ~ 19litres of V-power in.

Usually I have a habit where I would wait for my petrol to enter reserve and rode further for MaximuM 50km before I pump, and average I pump 17.6 - 18litres already.

My mileage BeforE reserve last me minimum 370 - 382km

Maximum I go is 448km - 455km (Throttle w care in ReservE, havent dry)

Riding habit: 95kmh 6k rpm - on vtec once in a while.

Mostly play Pick up only.

15litre + 3litre reserve = 18litre.

But how come ppl always can pump more then 18litre?

i heard of rumors that the digital meter at the kiosk is not 100% accuracy.

maybe only gave you 17litre but stated 17.8litre. Well, this might be a rumours. It is all the "hear and say".

And then some people have the habit of pushing their bike up and down, giving pressure to their forks and suspension. which i think it provide nothing at all. Oh ya, this result in minor loss of petrol. Why we see taxi or lorry uncle squeeze fuel into the tank. Diesel in someway when u push more, the DISEL spread better in the tank. However, for PETROL we do not need to force it in. petrol will automatically goes into the tank nicely.

Another habit is to squeese the petrol till the BRIM, then we feel good to return the pump to it position. Manual say 18 litre. you squeeze 18.5 litre also not use mah. when u pump till so full, when u put back your fuel cap also will lose that little amount of petrol mah. Then since it is already to the max capacity, sometimes u see abit of petrol overflow. Advise: no need pump till full to save that few click of travel.

Whatever stated is all my " ali ba ba theory " . Do not flame me if i am wrong, but do let me know if i am wrong. thanks. =):cheer:

i everyday open vtec.. crusing speed 100-120... shift gear @ 5-8k rpm depending on mood.. and i can stil get a resonable mileage of at least a 300km before reserve starts to kick in..

my best mileage i got before reserve is 340

haahz xiaowen,

hahz. Some others also say, because when u pump petrol into your tank, you're not just pumping petrol but a few percentage of it will be air - as petrol are stored underneath the ground, due to warm weathers, the petrol will 'expand' thus air MAY be stored inside, whereas cold weathers will not.

This is also a theory where people also say, if you pump, should pump at night rather than pump in the day, and you should not press the pump fully but just partly.

Hence, i believe although the petrol has reached the brim of the tank, u're still able to pump another 1 - 1.5litres of petrol in to replace the 'air'. (it will not flow out if u close the fuel cap).

mine after washing and tuning of carb,FC seems worse..:sian:

And the problem is during stopping at traffic light, the idling is always moving up & down.

when moving off from green light, open throttle, the rpm always like drop down, and have to open more,1 to 2 secs later then it will goes up.sometimes

even engine dies off... :(

At 220km,my fuel reading is at 1 bar only...:faint:

float pin is worn.
