Hi guys, need some advice on my SM....

I keep getting this front wheel weaving feeling when in slow speed, especially moving off from a complete stop. Its disappears after getting into speed though.

Could it be my top case tats causing this ? Jus feel very confused cos this type of wobblng usually comes in at high speeds. However, its the speed tats cures the wobbling and only happens when I move off from a stop.

Sometimes, it even feels like the symptom of your steering cone getting old

Appreciate if you guys can share :help:

stock new DRZSM is not well greased at the rear linkage, swingarm, steering cone, and the front and rear axles.. get it done at your fav mechanic asap.

Thks R.C. !

Recently saw a fren's bike with the GPR pipes. Sounds really gd :lovestruck:

Was told there s a Leo Vince with the headers as well. Any idea how much it cost? Wat other things needs to be done with this and also, is there a recommended mileage before I put them on?

Any owners with the Leo Vince care to share?

Hi to all. Me going to be a newbie here.

Am getting an 06 DRZ within the next few days. Have not been following the series but appreciate if someone can enlighten me on what were the models before this one and what are the changes made to them.

Also need to know what street legal aftermarket exhaust systems are there for the bike? What size tyres can they take and would Racetecs fit the bike?

What needs to be done to the bike legally to make it track worthy?

Appreciate all inputs and thanks very much.

Hey Raptor, welcome to the club!

These are great fun bikes.

Basically the 2005 model was the first SM version available and I believe the differences between the 2005 and 2006 are purely cosmetic. The SM is based on the S model which is slightly heavier and slightly less powerful than the E model.

I think the cheapest street legal pipe is the LeoVince and you can get a pro-circuit header to go with it. (ask ronnyz) I think the other thing you will need is an FCR2 carb. The FCR3 is a pain to fit and requires tank modification.

Apart from that you will need to fit braided lines, fork and swingarm sliders and adjust the suspension to suit track. (again ask Ronnyz) Some handguards would be a good investment also.

You can get hot cams and a E model or race CDi which yield significant gains when combined with the exhaust and carby mods.

Yes, I believe the racetecs do come in the correct sizes. The DRZ has a 4.5" rear so it can fit 160/60's at a push or 150/60's are the stock size. (many motards have a 4.25" which is limited to 150) The fronts are 120/70's

Best to check out the singapore DRZ forum, these boys know all the stuff.

I really think you should ask Ronnyz about the pipe. I know he recently changed to one and somewhere in the DRZSG forum they were talking about a bulk order. Considering also getting the LV end can for road use if I can get a good price.

Will be back at the track soon.

Took the Baby Raptor today from Speedway and rode to Motoworld. Next thing is KP shows me a street legal Yoshimura Tri-oval carbon end can that is part of a full titanium exhaust system.

I can resist anything but temptation and the rest is history.

Just one question though.... there is always a loud pop (backfire) every time I close the throttle to pick up the gears. There is some backfiring again when I close throttle for a while after downshifting especially when coasting to a stop.

Do I need to change to a bigger idling jet or at least turn out the mixture screw??

the screw bro...now you exhuast is so "clear..."back presurre also diff, it is probably running a little lean...thats why got no flames...back fire pop is sure have one..

i dun think there is a cat for these bikes so it is even easier for it to back fire... some more its a single cam, super torquey...

ps: exhaust have little or no flame means lean...

if the flames are blueish, then its just nice...

if the flames are yellow orange, then too rich...which also mean the flames are hotter and will have soot on your signal lights...

and one more thing...you just made me fu**ing tempted....

do a plug chop test to tell whether it's lean or rich..

if u like to use the CV carb, get someone to tune it for u.. maybe just need to do fuel mixture screw adjustment and up the main jet. you minght want to consider cutting your airbox as well.

alternatively, you can change to a flatslide. (keihin FCR) then dun meddle with the jetting.

as adviced by keilvard525. do adjustments after you run it would be better.
