i have some sad story to share......

MY belove rs125 was injure from a accident. my baby hit on to a taxi back side. Only some scratches on the taxi backside, but my rs125 needs to have at least a week of rest in workshop.

Only some injures, have to change the head fairing ($100) and repaint the side fairing.($230) plus labour and this and that cost around $400++. So expensive.

why paint work is so costly.... is like chopping my fresh into pieces.

$680 if you order now, $740 after MAY shipment. 30% deposit must be placed first.

Biketech 21. Not sure if motorworld sells it.

-Milo Kong exhaust is actually a scooter's exhaust. If you dont believe me.. go look for piaggio scooter's and compare... its the SAME. Damn italians.

Always be prepared.

2nd 04 rs125?... erm im not sure... wnt be cheap? i dnt think there is anyone out there selling .. if there is its about 6to 8k?(my rough guess)

About the maintainance issue, like any bikes... you keep it well(wash valves etc,oil ur cables..blah blah blah), regular servicing, it should be fine. And obviously the parts are slightly more expensive... its from italy man... would u rather ur parts come from italy or thailand? and looks wise... come on.. italian bikes win hands down.

Always be prepared.

Yup looks wise ya i know totally italian bikes looks way better...maintanance i dun mean juz the regular u know some bikes like those scramblers they juz need more frequent mantainence than any other regular bikes is tht the case for rs125?

anyway i've read a few pages in front n seems tht rs125 2nd usually has alot of prob on e brake pad things to do with brakes n clutches....r these e main n frequent prob for aprilia?

Hmm? Certain kinds of bikes that inherently require more maintenance? Perhaps you mean something like the difference between a Honda scooter and an Aprilia RS125? A comparison like that risks misrepresenting the situation, however. A Honda scooter is cheaper to maintain than a RS125, but not just because they are in different bike categories.

How it works:

  • The more power an engine of a given size is expected to output, the quicker parts will wear out in the long run (as in years).
  • The way sports bikes are often ridden means brake pads and clutches wear out faster.
  • Highly tuned engines require the best - and therefore most expensive - oils and fluids.
  • 2-stroke engines require the added cost of 2-stroke oil (2T), unlike 4-stroke engines.
  • Sports bike riders tend to use stickier, more expensive tyres (though you don't have to).

But:

  • All bikes need their oils, fluids and spark plugs changed regularly, at similar intervals.
  • Comparing apples to apples, ie, Aprilia RS125s with KRR150s (KIPS) and NSR150s (SP), Aprilias don't require more maintenance; only difference is parts are more expensive (imported).
  • As one of the guys (Rudy maybe) said in this thread, "You ride like you're racing, you pay like you're racing". If you want a high performance bike that you plan to ride hard, you'll have to pay for the kind of maintenance that kind of bike needs. But you'll get your money's worth in adrenaline and handling.

BTW, most scramblers are very low maintenance; mine is. 2nd-hand Aprilias will have parts that are more worn, like any other 2nd-hand bike, and those that haven't been taken care of properly will have problems, again, just like any other kinds of bike. The key is finding one that has had a careful owner. Best advice is to buy from people from this thread.
