One of the bike model the Traffic Police in Indonesia (Polantas = Polisi Lalu Lintas) using now is Yamaha Diversion 900. The MP is also using it. at the 2nd pic of indon TP, the BM sticker on mudguard means Bantuan Militer (Military Support) i.e. They are giving backups in the event of military big shots arrived in Jakarta.

 

Btw, do not get pull over in Jakarta. Not only they will give u fines or asked to attend court (if one doesn't wanna give kopi money ) but they will also asked u to do pumpings on the road! haha. My relatives kena b4. He was following behind the convoy of some big shots as it will get him away from the heavy traffic but the TP spotted him, and immediately TP pulled him over and asked him to do pumpings. He guai guai done so and the TP left.

 

Also, if one spotted BP in the civilian car (i.e. B 4332 BP), it is police so-called unmarked car.

 

i have to admit, no other class 2 bikes comes close to the Diversion.... All the other class 2 bikes i survey, the Diversion is still in my heart, mind and soul.... Wish I can own one someday... Too bad the bike is too rare to find and I'm planning to migrate in 2 years time, so not worthwhile to invest in a big bike now....

Anyone here knows how much does item no.11 (Gasket Silencer) cost and is it much of a hassle to replace by oneself ?

 

Wierdly, only my right side of the exhaust shakes but not both.

I bought it at $10 each about two years ago. Not difficult to replace. You can DIY. 20mins for noob, 19mins for expert.

The tools require.

1. Two spanner ( I think 10 and another ??), the original tool kit should has them.

2. Sand paper for metal. ( I would prefer half piece of 500 grade another half piece 800-1000 grade)

After remove the muffler, the old and worn gasket will stick on the outer surface the pipe and some stick on the inner surface of the muffler. You will have to use sand paper to remove them completely. If you don't have sand paper, you can use pen knife, but it takes you more time.
