Yamaha Diversion 900

During our last meetup, Nassir from Team Diversion came up with the idea of riding to the Royal Malaysian Police Technical College in Muar, Johor to introduce Team Diversion to the instructors. He got to know them when he attended the Marshall Course conducted in March 2011. When planning the date for this trip, coincidentally, Rudy chose Wednesday, 20th April - my birthday!!

Since it is my birthday, my wife gave me the green-light to go riding with the guys and play 'TP' for the day (love her lots!!!)

This trip turned out to be one of my best birthday celebrations ever, and an awesome way to welcome my big THREE ZERO!!!

 

Diversions ARE an intimidating sight!!!!

When we arrived at Woodlands Al-Ameen for breakfast, the staff were shouting out "SAMAN!!! SAMAN!!!!"

 

I had two Prata kosongs with sambal and a teh GAJAH!!!! One for the road!!!!

 

We moved off from Al-Ameen at 11am...

The plan is to enter JB via Woodlands, be on the North-South Highway by 11.30am and reach Pagoh by 1.30pm....

 

Arrival at Pagoh Toll Plaza....

 

We arrived at Pagoh at 1.20pm, right on schedule.... We had arranged to meet with our Malaysian Traffic Police escorts at 1.30pm....

 

The 1st of our TP escort to arrive - on the Honda STX1300P!!! He is a senior TP instructor - I've seen him ride the Diversion lying on his back with BOTH feet on the handlebar!!! LEGENDARY!!!!!

Apparently, Rudy arranged this trip to coincidentally fall on my BIRTHDAY!!!! That's what you call DESTINY!!!!

MTPDRM (Royal Malaysian Police Technical College)

 

This College trains offensive and defensive driving and riding techniques to police officers throughout East and West Malaysia!!!

 

The Royal Malaysian Police uses the Honda STX1300, Honda VFR800,

 

and the reliable CBX750!!!

 

I have been wanting to get myself one of these leather TP jackets, it's the next item on my shopping list!!!

Lunch with the MTPDRM instructors!!! We had planned to 'belanja' them lunch, but ended up them giving us a lunch treat instead!!!

 

After lunch, we watched the women police officers training for their upcoming performance on 28, 29, 30 April at Merdeka Stadium, KL.

 

Yes, the women officers ride the BIG bikes!!! And they not only ride, watch what they do...

We just sat back and enjoyed the show!!!!

 

Next, we went to the stores to SHOP for PDRM products!!! OOOHHHH!!!!!

PDRM boots, gloves, jackets, T-shirts....

 

Bought one of the PDRM's long-sleeved T-shirt for myself!!

 

Cut the long story short, I got my feet in this pair of government-issued, NOT-FOR-SALE Police motorcycle boots..... WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!

Ocel, if I'm not mistaken, you mentioned in a previous post that you've never seen a Diversion on the road apart from the Police ones, right? Well, THAT was your lucky day!!!
