the clutch pump was the first to go... now the brake pump haa

btw do you guys stick to the agent for the valve adjustment/belts servicing? or any other recommend places?

how much it costs in total inclusive of labour for valve adjustment and belt change at the agent?

My 2 cents is that, I go other shop for servicing....valve clearance, as long as within limit, no need for adjustments. Unless you very perticuliar about every little bits of your duc, then I'll keep my 2 cents to myself :cheeky:

So, I bring my bike to Minerva for things like tuning and if ever I need valve clearance adjustments (so far so good, always in).

And small small things when labour is nothing compared to the parts itself. For example my rear brake master pump....$100 plus, but labour like $15, so dun mind.

Simple to say, my oil/filter change, brake/clutch/reservoir fluid change, timing belt change, air filter change I do elsewhere. They will get the parts from Minerva, and also gaskets required. Labour much cheaper....so around $500.

Example: Excel, Kallang Cycle, Jerry Looi, Sportings, Ubi Cycle, Bike Connection and a few more which I do not know.

Motorworld cannot do as they do not have the proper tool. At least they honest enuff to tell me that.

Last time i also had an experience like this. An ROV was at my tail, i squeezed in between cars at a junction. The ROV bike simply too big to get thur....lucky mi. But all my parts are orginal...why do i care...they can't tell the diff anyway :thumb:

Have to try and save a bit here and there....but it's up to one to trust other workshops other than Minerva. I trust the one I go to, at least.

Unless one day we earn as much as the expats, I would do all my servicing there. Oh, I also have to buy a new duc so they know I have $$$ and will let me jump the line, ha. Then I'll sit back on my armchair at home cranking my brains out to find faults and write a love letter to them every other servicing so they can value me as a customer :cheeky:

Ya, some agent's pricing is simply ruthless. Last time my concern abt purchasing a duke is the maintainence cost for the replacement of the timing belt which round up to be 250+ until recently an old uncle i met whom replace the timing belt for his honda-type skipper at 185. It is not so bad after all 4 a duke :cheeky:

Hahaha, ya if i got the extra cash, i will export the engine every year back to italy and request em to drop one from their latest production line and sent it back with the same engine ID. With that, i dun even have to bother who the agent is and forget abt timing belt change. Any other parts other than the engine can be easily located at eBay :thumb:
