with improvements to the evo, I didnt expect the price is the same as the current 848?

any confirmations on this?

That's the selling point for the 848 evo according to overseas sources. However, Minerva would most peobably want to make a killing and price it higher than the 848. Well we just have to wait & see.

damm.......when the euro came off to 1.18 they still pushed up the prices on the multistrada.

now with it back up to 1.3+, it is prob better to PI the evo then.

YO,

the DOCS had been approached by Z Fencing who are the organizers of the fencing event "Duel at The Marina". we were asked if we could provide 8 bikeswith riders to shuttle the 8 competitors to the arena, all with in the Marina Bay Sands complex, for the presentation before the competition. Check out this website for info on Z Fencing. http://www.z1pro-fencing.com

The committee was asking what is in it for the club? went back to Z Fencing and suggested that the pay the club for each bike and that we then will donate the money to our Charity, the Moral Home. Z Fencing accepted and came back wit the following deal:

1. $600 donation to the designated charity for 8 riders

2. $25 dining voucher each and 2 jars of beer or 2 bottles of wine at Heaven's Loft, Orchard Central (with a beautiful alfresco bar cum dining on 8th floor)

- the team can go over there after the event for a nice dinner/supper, drinks, live music and camaraderie - see http://www.heavensloft.com or you can choose another day

This is the first time Z Fencing is organising this kind of event. They wanted something "stacular" when they present the contenders. First thought was Harley Owners Group. Since this is a dramatic, fast, graceful sport HOG didn't fit in and someone picked us from website. Another thought was, since all contenders are Europeans, inclusive of Italians, an American brand will not stand out as much as DUCATI.

We'll be two groups of 4 bikes, most likely, and the idea is to shuttle the competitors from back stage to the arena where they will be presented to the audience. In order to make it happen smoothly the organiser will have a rehearsal on Thursday 29 Jul from 6 pm.

FENCING SET FOR A BOOST WITH THE 'DUEL AT THE MARINA'

-----------------------------------------------------

SINGAPORE - With more than 1,200 practitioners of the sport here already, fencing is on the march in Singapore.

The size and quality of young talent coming through is especially exciting for German Ralf Bissdorf, a silver medal winner in the foil at the 2000 Olympic Games.

Now technical consultant of Z Fencing, a fencing school in Singapore, Bissdorf is convinced the Republic can win its first Olympic medal by 2020. The 39-year-old, who came here in February to oversee Z Fencing's elite programmes, revealed yesterday that a number of the athletes in the under-16s could go on to become champions.

Z Fencing is headed by Wong Toon King, who won a team silver and individual bronze in foil at the SEA Games in 1991 and 1993, respectively.

To generate even greater interest in the sport, Z Fencing is hosting the first Z1 Pro Fencing World Series at Marina Bay Sands tonight, featuring two Olympic gold medallists, Germany's Benjamin Kleibrink (2008) and France's Brice Guyart (2004).

Billed as the Duel at the Marina, it will also include world champions Andrea Baldini (2009) of Italy and Peter Joppich (2003, '06, '07) of Germany and four other rising stars fighting for a total of US$30,000 ($40,861) in prize money.

I don't mind doing it if I'd have a bike with another seat. You have a 2 seater?

http://www.ducatinewstoday.com/2010/08/ducati-ceo-confirms-rossi-and-hayden-for-2011/

Valentino Rossi joining Ducati in MotoGP has switched from a crazy rumor to rampant expectation of an almost anti-climactic nature as we await the Doctor himself to advise of his decision formally at Brno. Having said that, there has never been any formal comment from the man himself or Ducati that he has actually signed….until now.

None other than the boss himself, Ducati CEO, Gabriele Del Torchio has clearly stated in an interview given to Cycle World Magazine contributor Bruno dePrato that Rossi will be in Red next year on board the companies Ducati Desmosedici racer.

“Nicky is a wonderful person and a great rider. This year, he greatly contributed to improving our Desmosedici racer. Next year, he and Valentino will hone the bike to its ultimate winning potential.”

link: Cycle World

Del Torchio’s comments also confirm that Nicky Hayden will still be factory Ducati mounted next year as was widely anticipated given his stronger performance this year. So there you have it. Presumably the formal announcement will come some time during the Brno racing scheduled for August 15th, most likely on the Sunday following the race, if not in a pre-race press conference. Wouldn’t it be nice for Rossi to announce his future intentions and then go on to victory on Sunday!
