Guys,

A friend of mine is selling his Ducati OEM paddock stand for single-sided swingarm. Retails @ Minerva for $395, he selling @ $200. Condition 9/10, Grey colour, includes 2 pins, still has the Ducati labels on it. Anyone interested?

Hey D, is that the Ducati Performance Stand? Pin fits the 1098S? I believe it should be 46mm. If yes, contact me. I'm keen to deal.

If you're looking for a radiator guard as Ohayo mentioned, I got an Evotech set of top and bottom from Unique for 200+. solid construction :thumb:

Btw, how many of you guys order your own parts for servicing such as clutch plates, clutch springs, etc.? Seems quite a fair bit cheaper to get it myself. Also, does anyone know if Minerva will still service your bike if you bring your own parts?

Yes bro. As long the items you brought down are genuine ducati performance parts, they can do it for you. But......if you are going back to minerva for service, its advisable that you used their stuffs instead. If anything should crop up after servicing (touch woods), they might just claimed that your own parts are faulty.

Hmm, ok because I'm actually thinking of getting Barnett clutch plates as I read they're more durable then the DP OEM ones. I wonder if they will still be agreeable to use them. Anyway, I've sent an enquiry to both Minerva and Racewerks asking them if they install aftermarket parts instead of OEM ones, so I'll let you guys know how it goes. Thanks!

Ok bro. When it comes to dealing with Minerva warranty with regards to installation of non ducati performance parts. You have to be careful. Gonna get eugene to say 'YES, Your warranty will NOT BE VOIDED'. Why dont you need to change the clutch plates? the current stock ones already gave way??

Instead of going to the very expensive route. Actually you can consider installing fans at the radiator instead. Fixed up 2 fans with a switch that allows you to manual control. Usually the bike heats up when its going slow, during these periods you can switch on the fans to cool the bike till you can ride fast.

Okie bro. As long you leave your bike outta sight, no where is safe in Malaysia. The only way to guarantee the bikes are still there when you come back is to chain lock them. In Malaysia major shopping mall, they provide railing on the ground to secure the bike by chain. When me and my friends normally do is to chain the rear tires to the railing, we have another to chain two bikes front tires together. Dont underestimate Malaysian syndicate capabilities. Be extra careful as european bikes cost arms and limbs in malaysia. To them, we are riding a big fat gold mine.

Yo bro. Life is short. If to ride a Ducati is one of your riding dream, go for it. We only live ONCE. It is an expensive hobby ONLY if you love to add on accessories to your bike. Accessories for ducati aint cheap at all, you see. So if you are the stock go-er, no much worries on spending actually. The first major servicing for the newer ducati model such as multistrada and diavel is 24000km, as compared to the older models of 12000km. Of course in between you have the normal maintenance. Just like the Japanese bikes.

Its whole new experience to ride an Italian stallion. That is why some riders never go back to other bikes make ever.

The relationship is You like it or you hate it. ^_^

Actually there's no more warranty already since my bike has already crossed its 3rd birthday. I was looking at the service manual and it says change clutch plates if necessary for the 12k servicing. Also, I noticed recently that maybe about 1 out of 5 times the clutch plates slip on take off. My guess is this means they're wearing out?

I see i see. If your bike has no more warranty. Mod all the way. hehehheheh.

Since the bike is nearing 12k only, actually you can try to clean the clutch first before attempting to change to the newer ones. Of course its a different story if the bike has already clocked 24k and above on the same plates.
