most owner who owns a ducati has another commuter bike. for my case, its a honda wave.

i do not advise riding a ducati superbike on a daily basis. well, at least not in my case

haha.. i have a side bike too.. yeahhh.. i`m in da same position as u.. ktm also not advisable to ride daily due to its parts servicin schedule goes by the hour.. but heckkk.. i love riding it.. ;)

thks fer ur pt of view blackreplica..! that is one nice 996 u got there..! i bet its a pretty rare classic..!

yeahhh.. the 999 need a lil gettin used to it to the looks.. but i can live with it.. not too bad afterall.. the 2006 999r Xerox WSBK is pretty SMACK..!

seen a couple of 749/999 for sale.. its within my budget range though.. hence i`m considering these bikes..

its true.. not only for ducati.. but it applies for most bikes too.. i`ve nvr stinge on my bike maintenance.. afterall, if u take good care of it.. it`ll be good to u..

maybe duc is a bit more pricey to maintain.. but heck..! its an italian we`re talkin about.. 3k a year.. hmmm.. i can work it out.. thks for the info..! =)

just to add my 2 cents....

I think for someone who is new to Ducati, the 749/999 looks are quite acceptable cos i was looking at a 999s when looking for my 1st duc. However, at that time i did not come across one with a condition that made me want to buy it.

The looks is either you love it or hate it, but it's still a bonafide Duc no less. The Testastretta V-twin, the trellis frame, the dry clutch, marchesini rims, brembo brakes, and Ohlins for the S models. It's supposed to be more comfy to ride than the 916 series, and it is as reliable as the guy who takes care of it.

Take your time, come join us for meetups and learn more about various models before you decide. I wished i had done so before buying my 1st duke....

talk about 749 with xerox paintwork. Excel selling for $16.8k. but when i asked the boss for trade in my 749, he's unwilling at my offer of $14k.

double standard? lol hope the previous owner trades in at a good price though.

At the end of the day, they need to make from the sale haha. But I find excel's mark up not as high as some other motor tiams. The service leaves a lot to be desired though.

i think that depends on whether you know the owner and who u talked to ba. I have not bought a bike from them but i service my bike there. So dun really have exp to tell. Haha.

PMed you regarding meetup.

My 916 is very low mileage, lower than some of the new bikes.... easy on the wallet for maintenance and very reliable.

i need new rubber!! i've read decent reviews on michelin's power pure and 2ct tires.. anybody has any comments on them, especially on local roads? I only ride street, no track.

or any other tires to recommend? grip is primary as I ride in the wet at times.. any advise appreciated :)

Michelin Power Pure ; Great grip on wet/dry conditions
