Hi guys,

Can provide recommendation on which shop would be suitable to get brand new R1?

Not looking to pay full cash, perhaps 30-40% downpayment, and ideally doesnt have early settlement penalty (so can clear loan when bonus come in), good service, low interest and acceptable machine price.

Thanks

Class 3 = 02/07/2002

Class 2B = 24/04/2008

Class 2A = 22/12/2009

Class 2 = 10/02/2011

Hi all,

I hope this is the right place to seek advise on the new R1. I understand that R1 '09-'11 are all the same except for minor outlook changes. Engine wise, still the same crossplane technology with the uneven firing(that is what attracted me).

Currently, i'm on a GSXR 600 K7 and wanting to change to a liter bike. I have 2 options in mind, GSXR 1000 '11 or the new R1. But from what i read, all the reviews on the '09 and '11 R1, it is more on the downside; Heaviest amongst its class, lack off low and mid range power, bad FC etc2.. Also, price wise over the clouds.. However, on the GSXR part, i guess i am more comfortable with it as i'm currently riding one, and also the new model comes with Brembo as standard.

I am really having a hard time deciding on this, and i figured reading reviews and comparisons won't help. Hearing personal experiences and comments are more satisfying. So, if anyone who currently owns '09-'11 R1, or knows a thing or two, i would really appreciate any sincere advise / opinions.

Cheers guys! Hope to join the club. Hehehe.

Yo bro, for wat i can say is that new r1 has a crossplan crankshaft n sound more to a v twins. And yes its heavy. On the other side, would u still wanna ride the same engine powerplan or try to be different? As for me, i would love to get the new r1 as engine spec is unique n different from inline n vtwins. If i were to wait a little longer that year, i would alr get my self the 09 model. Wat i can say to u, DAre to be different. :thumb:

yup bro, Thanx for the advise. Great minds think alike. Even many of my frens tell me to try on something else. Its a waste if i only get to feel the thrill from only one make. I guess every bike has its own pros and cons. Hahaha

N yar, the unique engine technology and superb sound are the factors that make me attracted to it. Just throw in a pair of Akra will make a ducati rider infront thinks he has a fellow ducati rider behind him. Heh!

Anyway i am still considering as i have to make calculations on my trade in value and all. Dun wanna make any hasty decisions especially when it involves large amount of $$$...

And also, if you have any reliable shop to recommend me, do not hesitate.

Thanx for the input bro.

Cheers to all R1ners..

I'm still learning how to control the throttle when in and existing a corner on "A" mode. It's challenging.

If you have a pillion, it is better not to use "A" mode.

But brakes is not that good, don't be deceive by the brembo front master pump.

So no late braking.

Thanx for the feedback.. But overall, how do u feel abt the bike? The throttle response? Torque fuel consumption n all? Also, i just knew the new R1 comes with brembo too..

u have to ask urself between k11 and r1"11 which outlook appeals to u more.

cause thats how i choose my bike over so many choices

u already riding a k7 600 by now u shld realise if u wan to get a class 2 bike, then dun take fc into consideration.

i have test ride a fren's 09 and i can tell u that the throttle respond compared to mine, sudden throttle from constant 100km/hr, its way better than my 08. u can feel the bike trying to charge forward.
