sometimes i wonder if mechanics will get confused on how to fix our bikes, especially when r1 has so many different models...hmm..

 

ya luh. totally agree. prolly they'll just anyhow do it uh! hahahahah.

Hey R1ders. Does anyone hv d fender for 07/08 model? Do u mind loaning me coz i nd to pass d inspection for my bike. Haha. State ur price if u r willing. Coz i chck wit shop dey charging $70 if i ask dem to help me send for inspection. U cn contact me at 81188747. Hakim here.

Hi Gd morning R1riderz...glad am still alive n back here to tell u guys about my near death experience...

 

The other day at nite I was travelling along BKE towards woodlands on e second lane at about 90kmh...I changed lane to e first lane and picked up speed to about 100 kmh... The very next moment I saw a thick and long wooden log infront of me and no time to avoid it..the next moment there was a loud 'tucck' sound and my front wheel lifted off e ground and landed so hard I had encounters with tank slapping... Thank god I managed to stabalize my bike and get back in control... Phew...I can't imagine if I had flown off e bike n get ran over by e cars at e back..

 

Btw bros I was checking out Y-pipes and motorworld told me to standby extra 500bucks...lol... They said LTA surely will catch.. Sianz

I asked generally about Ypipes bro...the sales person said its illegal as the catalyic converter is no longer there thus failing emission standard. After that i didnt bother to ask the price...hahaha...

 

Thank god nothing happened to my bike...no leakage of fork oil and the bike still goes straight and stuff...pheeew

Hi R1 bros, I just got mine 07 R1. Everything on the bike are good except THE BIKE IS BLOODY HOT!!! My balls are almost cooked!! Ask the mechanic and they told me is normal.

Wondering any ways to reduce the heat of it? Can we set the fan to turn on earlier? Any bro here can throw some suggestion to me?

well sadly speaking for 04 models onwards ( underseat exhaust its quite hot and it was designed this hot in order for R1 to be hot :angel: )

 

but there are a few things u can do to lower the temperature or minimize the heat

 

1) change the y-pipe

2) use those better coolant like engine ice etc

3) use exhaust heat wrap to wrap from the mid pipe till the underseat y-pipe but comestic wise may not be so good-looking

actually if you want you can take a gamble. i sent my r1 for inspection a mth ago & they didn't do any test on my exhaust at all. when i sent my super 4 for inspection at the same changi viacom centre 1 wk before that, they put a long, thin pipe into my endcan & asked me to rev - i suppose that's to test the db. both bikes were on stock exhaust systems.

 

i'm not sure what's the consequences of not passing inspection but i figure at most they ask you to change & go back again another day. so it just costs $18 to try your luck & see if they check your exhaust.

actually, i went for inspection with my arrow y-pipe with leovince endcan. shop helped me changed my header back to stock as my arrow header wont pass. but with the y-pipe and leovince endcan i passed the inspection eh.
