fyit takes about 20mins for the alcohol to be dissolve in ur blood...so the test will not get anything if u take the test within 20mins

that is rubbish because the roadblocks will always be using the breath test not the blood test.

because it's the breath test, the alcohol content will show up without the need for it to dissolve in the blood.

Drinking impairs your judgement. We all know that. When you drive, you take evasive actions when you are not sure of another motorists' intentions, or if you think he's a bad driver. But it is defficult taking evasive actions against someone drunk because he is unpredictable, or if it is you yourself, because you have become unpredictable. You do anything you feel like in the spur of the moment, on the spot. Assuming you slow down, and horn, and for some reckless ones, you continue to speed thru, all it takes is for a pedestrian to be senile, drunk, inattentive (too absorbed in his worries) for you to run into him, let it be the other party being a pedestrian, motorcyclist or worst in a car or lorry. You could still be charged for dangerous driving. It doesn't matter if you are the drunk driver who knocked down someone. You could be the drunk pedestrian or motorcyclist who was knocked down and killed. In the end, someone could get badly hurt, or killed. Someone with a dad, a daughter, a wife, a life. For the one who dies, it shatters there. It ends there. But for the one who killed someone, through his impaired judgement because of drinking, its only started. The guilt of taking an innocent life away is perpetual. You will never live in peace knowing you killed someone's son, or someone's mum.

Spare a thought for others. Its no small matter to be a road hazard, lest you have no respect for sanctity of life, others' life.

It was a bad news for me when I heard that my friend was arrested by TP yesterday at a police road block. He failed the initial breath test and then he was arrested and escorted to TP for another breath test.

He took the breath test and he failed the test. His result was 50 ug. The legal limit is below 35ug and below. Shitt... he failed the test. Now he is facing a definite disqualification. My friend told me that the TP investigator spoke to him and told him about the consequences of drink driving in detail. But the outcome was demoralising... the officer told my friend that he will be disqaulified from driivng all classes of licence for minimum 12 months and after the disqualification period, my friend have to take the entire process in taking the licence back. I mean he have to take his BTT, FTT and the entire practical lessons again.

What a waste.... My friend spent a lot to get his driving licence and now just because of one grave mistake and he cried over his stupid mistake..... EVERYTHING IS GONE JUST LIKE THAT..... After seeing this i strongly beleive that TP is very strict on drink driving..... NO MERCY WILL BE GIVEN TO U.... THAT MEANS U ARE DIGGING UR OWN GRAVE....

All i can do now is to console my friend but will it going to help him any bit... He badly needs the licence for his job mobility since he is in sales line.... Is there anybody out there that who can give me suggestions to help my friend in this matter????

We all know the consequences if we are caught for drink driivng, but i still can't understand on why people like my friend still do such a act. Sometimes i feel angry over my friend but is my anger going to solve the problem.. ITS TOO LATE...

Lastly I would like to say my personal opinion... after seeing my friend's state i strongly would like to pass this message... PLEASE DONT DRINK AND DRIVE or RIDE... YOUR PERSONAL SAFETY IS AT STAKE AND OTHER INNOCENT ROAD USERS TOO... Driving licence is an asset to us.. we shed our blood to obtain one.. so why give it away easily.. WE MUST TREASURE IT..... IF any brothers would like to comment further on my opinion.. OR DISAGREE TO IT.. you are most welcome to give ur comments.

your friend is lucky to be caught by TP. it means he's still alive and in one piece. losing job & licence is nothing compared to losing a life. what is worse is when someone dies because of your negligence, you will be guilt-stricken for life.

be responsible, ride safely. :thumb:

cheers!

Sad case, he needs the licences to earn a living and he abused his privilige to be on the road. At least he got stopped before he caused any eternal regrets. Let this be a wake up call to your friend as well as those who drink and drive/ride.

How to calculate how much beer you take will give the 35ug?

it all boils down to individual.. some people can expel alcohol out from their body faster then others.. so cant really say how much beer is = the 35ug.. but its somwhere around 2 1/2 glass of beer

All in all, if u drive, dun drink in the 1st place.

Be responsible. Dun think u can still drive after drinking... u think can liao, but dun drive. U kill a live due to it, then please go and squat in jail.

Penalties is really not heavy enuff for drink driving. Shld be min a yr's jail, disqualify for 5 yrs. Fine no point. S'pore al too rich liaoz and think $$ can solve everything.

Yeah i had a friend who was exactly that and more...the legendary friend on the tzm who beats r6's round bends, goes 110 km/h at 50km/h bends (witnessed both as a pillion-that was **** scary- and in a car behind)...anyways he always boasted but thankfully got caught. He ALWAYS drank three times for three years!!!

Can anyone believe his luck?Siam every road block...so someone who said not enough is being done is absolutely true if u know which areas are covered...

Went to australia to study, came back, partied one night and kan tong liao...i thank tp eventhough he is my friend for 15 years sia...

On the other hand someone else not my close friend never drink one but that day wedding kena 2 glasses of wine...HKL!also kan tong!

Can you guys believe it also?

For me the personal cost is too much to ever drink and drive...the guilt of killing someone's bright uni kid will just drive me insane...also my job is at stake...v v serious...

my point is one time or hundred time there is a definite chance (usually very high these days) could get you caught...the tp has wisen up these days and very happily so that they are catching speedsters and drunkards...thanks to TP...though i hate them for summoning parking on pavement i think they are very important people

utmost respect we shld treat them

You and us should feel happy that your friend is taken off the road for the safety of others.

If he is continue to drive after drinking, someone is going to get hurt or kill sooner or later.

Hope he can learn from his mistake

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.
