doubt so.take the panel home and drill or bring it to bike shop..im sure they have the hole saw bit to do up the hole.

HI St riders.

 

I used to ride Africa twin and now concidering Varadero because I'm used to the high bars going over car mirrors in traffic.

 

I like the reliability of the St and its reputation, however I have to nego traffic jams such as the JB customs evening crush-hours regularly.

 

So my question:

 

Which bike better in traffic (assuming I remove the ST's side boxes) if needed to choose Dero or ST11

Need to check with you guys here, when the bike is warm up and idling, is there light "tick tick" sound from the engine?

Mine has light " tick tick' sound something like a ball bearing jumping sound, when rev the engine more than 2krpm, the sound gone. I wonder is it normal?

not sure whether the sound is normal or not but I have it too even when I got my bike new.

 

I think it's something to do with the rocker and valve. If the sound is too loud, then have to adjust valve clearance liao. Correct me if Im wrong

My choice dero...ST you remove boxes still the side mirror may not be that forgiving if you are pack together with all those kapchais...

No timing chain.ST11 use belting. But can consider, EO, plugs.. Malacca is not that too far away but if your bike had not done any major servicing its best you have it done before leaving. Belting and coolant can be done together (take a couple of hours to replace belting and change coolant thermostat. Overheated engine(due to coolant system), flat battery or faulty fuel valve OR worst faulty alternator is something that we may not want to encounter. Bring along spares(plug, tire kit, fuse etc) if possible.
