no lah - no need football field - unless - unless we're gonna play football on bikes - like the Thais playing football using elephants.. ha ha

I also saw one video clip of Japanese police doing a course like this - but i can't find it anymore - if i can find it - i'll post it here.

My point at the end of the day is that it'll be great to be able to hone our handling skills on such a course - which , sadly, does not exist at the moment sigh!!

try calling up bbdc to arrange defensive riding session using your own bike loh. they will teach u more wif better techniques. safer also :thumb:

Actually I'm wondering - who trains the Traffic Police on defensive riding? I heard that BMW had some courses by their own experts (i may b wrong - perhaps its for cars). Just curious - does TP take courses from the likes of BBDC or SSDC instructors??

Hi Guys. Quick question here.

Went to the bike shop and he said my damper is not working properly @ max oredi. If i want to get some damping effect - then need to get new shocks. Question:

a) Does the damper affect the ride that much?

b) how much will the shocks cost?

c) are the various brands I can choose from (eg Ohlins?) or is it stock? If i have a choice - which one should I go for?

d) any place to change - I guess it has to be Gopa right?

Thanks for your help in advance.

They have their own police instructors who train the force, driving school.Ultimately the instructors are sent to learn from those experts, japanese or proffesionnels...and then in turn train the people .

a) Does the damper affect the ride that much?I believe its one of the area that equally important.Imagine that single shock that is holding on to the top weight.Thats the only point that gives ur butt a smooth ride when going over humps and such..If its faulty and to the extent its not replaced it may affect other parts of the machine.

b) how much will the shocks cost?2nd hand should be around 250-300 range.. New is around $630 if I am not mistaken.

c) are the various brands I can choose from (eg Ohlins?) or is it stock? If i have a choice - which one should I go for? This one is your call lah..If got $$ why not. But best just go for stock and you never go wrong.

d) any place to change - I guess it has to be Gopa right? Can try order the part from FJT or EVersuccess and get it installed somewhere for a nominal fee. No comments for Gopa..but he is not the only shop that service ST .

Before you replaced, get some 2nd or 3rd views from other reputable shops that you frequent and see if they can have it replaced if you buy a new one from FJT or not...or alternatively check with them for 2nd hand or how much they charge for new shocks. You may not be aware if the single shop you go may try to hardsell you a part.

1st method- You need to get the mounting bracket installed on ST11. with that most GIVI box with the baseplate should be able to fit in. Tried looking around popular shops that service ST and they should have the bracket . Can try your luck at Ah boy or Givi Lavender. The original bracket simply consist of two piece strip of bar.Installing the bracket is not difficult.

2nd method- Bring the baseplate/box (strapped on the bike ) and go to Seng Kwang and customised the bracket. They need to measure . It aint cheap but it last for a very long time. He can even customised the baseplate if you had none of it.

Thanks for advise. Will go look around. Understand the need to keep the parts in tip top condition.

Sorry to ask this...

I never understood what is the voltage meter for?

Do you have so many devices on your bike that you need something to monitor the voltage?

It's usually not the bike, Check the Biker

Hello Brothers,

I guess it is good to have the voltmeter to monitor the "condition" of your Rectifier. Once you see the voltmeter not coming up.....Good luck... Most likely you need a replacement OR later you might not be able to start your bike liao..... esp. when you are touring with your friends...I think it is good to have Voltmeter (Esp. the "older" ST1100)

There are afew choices to install cigger socket.

1. I install handle riser, the cigger socket is installed on the riser cover.

2. You can install it inside left front pocket if dun have a riser.
