I can only think of the quality type of your brake pad..some have lots of metal flakes (good for wet) and some lots of alabaster or calcite. Squeaky sound is usually caused by excessive brake pad powder jammed tight in the caliper clamp or piston area and when they get wet especially..it make noise.

Solution..heee...x2!...go to a mototiam and get a "blow job"..aiyah..borrow the shop air pressure gun and shoot shoot at the disc and break pad..otherwise, go to Autobac at Bukit Batok and get a can of brakes cleaning spray in a can (it dissolve and wash off brake's harden powders) and do some DIY cleansing.

You too can find just about anything solvent that can it it off but make sure your brakes still bite after that.

Its not so much the brand but the type and grade. At any rate, do check your rotor disc too if it has deep groove..usually looking shinning and when you run your finger 90 degreed downward against it..you feel the ridges of each. Removing the dust brake power should help.

Timing chain: Loud "cluckling" sound. Won't affect performance but soon worst damage to other internal parts would result. Its a tough chain..hardly any problem but slack usully. Can be rectify by chain tensiner adjustment or have the tensioner slippers replace.

Water pump : Take of your tank and remove radiator cap. Rev the bike lightly up and down and see if the level of coolant goes in and out from cap. Is tehre any other way..am not sure unless your wanna remove the pump outer cover and see if the impller fan rotates..have to replace with new gasket when put back.

What leakage?

Hmm.. that will be a big proj to slowly do up your bike.. Even for me.. The most pressing prob now is the suspension + fork..

Unique offers.

$96 Package

I find that it's good and price from what i see also good.. Then lastly is suspension.. hai~ that one is really sad case..

Thats the problem with buyers too sometimes. Buyers always goes for those bikes that offer the cheapest. Of coz if seller know that hisbike is not up to it, seller wouldnt mind slashingprice low.

An advise, its ok to buy a bit more cash. But from reputable seller. Those whose bike condition can be backed up by fellow forumers. Spend a bit more when u buy...less headache later.

all the best bro. slowly do it up.

Block leakage? 1.2k for an engine overhaul?

Need Ah Pek advice....

Have been riding my FN/PB1 for few years but nvr go for any major servicing.

Most of the time do my own EO, Filter and spark plug change.

1)Last spark pluge change notice that right side inner plug was coated with engine oil,

Wat can be wrong?

2)Coolent, only topup the coolent spare box once. Did check the coolent cap and it is still full..... Wat can be wrong?

3)can PB1 stock front rim take 120/60 tire?

Thank you...

This sux man.. The seller probably just wanted to get the bike off his hands (and worries).

Maybe you wanna solve the cooling system problem first. Most imporant IMO among the other damages.

lol if they dunno what's grounding, then you shouldnt bother asking them further. Probably better if you get Ah Pek to do the grounding for you? :thumb:

Just to share about buying a second hand S4 especially version R or S. I think its "Bleachu" here that gotten suckered out by the mototiam. His bike was improve in many ways by me till we found out that the meter was that of an "R" version (has no temperature light but a guage instead" and no "fuel gauage meter". Also the tank was that of Version R with the special edition paint work and this can be confirm by having no two pin wire connection for a fuel gauge.

So..what is the problem?..well, it turns out that the "power cut off" is different in setting than for a version S engine and CDI unit. He has now to look for a Version S meter to get passed the 10k rpm. Moreover, even if he does get one, his meter fuel gauge would only be a white elephant as the tank do not have a level float in it.

So guys..look out for such..even myself got blinded by this one.

1) Plug not seated fully or carbs for that cyclinder is too rich in fuel/air mixture setting.

2) Should be ok unless your fan keeps cutting on or temperature led lighted up.

3) Front yes but better to stay with 110. If you want 120 front, make sure back is 150..otherwise, your handling at quick corner, body english wise is affected as the centrifugal force is offset. Front 110 and back 150 is ok.

If you are on a tight budget..do this like all good mototiam would attempt!

1) Drain out all your present left over coolant by removing the coolest hose nearest your pump and the one at the radiator base. Clean your reserve tank too.

2) Rinse with clean water thru your radiator cap a few time.

3) Put back the coolant hose the one you taken off at the radiator base.

4) Rinse again and watch the water coming off at the hose near the water pump..stop when it's clear.

5) Put back the last coolant hose.

6) Get a bottle of Blue Coral coolant antileak Gel from NTUC.

7) Fill full bottle of it into your radiator.

8) Close the radiator cab..put back tank and all and let the engine run for at least 10 to 15 minutes or till thermostat opens. The ideal is to let the gel seats into all cracks etc..and let it set and seal.

9) Let to cool..

10) Drain and rinse again..releasing using bottom coolant hose will do.

This may or may not work depending on the damaged level of leakage. There are better product than Blue Coral but I forgot what they are for sealing leakage in pressurised cooling system. Worth a try anyway..may just work for you.

hey i recently got a verS from my uncle.

i need to know something. recently i topped up full tank.

ride around 201km, then see the metre at reserve already.

but then no need to switch to reserve.

so i need to know:

whats the average mileage for full thank if i ride around ninety km/h?

my fuel metre is at reserve but then there is no indication for me to switch to reserve, so how do i know when to switch to reserve?
