street legal, but i had the mid pipe replaced to get the high mount look ~ my avatar photo was my gen1.. sorry if the pic kinda small :D

sorry correct me if i am wrong. from what i understand there is restriction on the 1st 3 gears for gen1 but for gen 2 there is not restriction on the 1st 3 gear so a tre is useless on a gen 2 other than to delimit the 6th gear top speed rpm by fooling the ecu it is in 5th gear. and if you are tuning your bikes with many mods the tre will screw up your tuning as it will be in 5th gear mapping all the time (different gear have different fueling maps). thats why most drag racers dont use a tre. :thumb:

Doesn't matter tre or atre.. all similiar as that all they do is to will trick the ecu into think they are not in 6th gear (can be 5th 4th 3rd etc) mapping so there is no restriction on the rpm (so not restriction on top speed) . but if you bike is running only on 1 map for all gears vs your bike running on individual maps on different gears... which do you think is more efficient and accurate? runing too rich or too thin at certain gears or running justs right on all gears..

Its not tricking the ECU,its regarding the ignition timings.I get your point.You will never get the accurate air fuel ratio,unless you can store many maps and provided you travel in the same country always.Even though you can switch maps it will be a hassle and time consuming.

The performance wise is really minimum unless you are a perfectionist or involved in races.To each of its own

For Gen1, yes the tre or atre will trick trick the ecu by thinking its not in the 1st 3 gear (where it is retarted) so restoring the ignition timing. But u misunderstood the 2nd point. A tre or Atre will make or trick the ecu that it is in another gear all the time. eg 4th or 5th or 6th depends on your atre or tre . Running 1st gear on 6th gear mapping or running 2nd gear on 5th gear mapping is not good. Thats why most grag racers dont use tre or atre. so your bike regardless of the tune will only run good at a certain gear (where it is tuned) but at other gears will run either too rich or too lean.
