It's not about wad u can see during the day, it's abt what other ppl can see wen ur coming. The light helps u get spotted easier even in daytime.

Agreed with Cracked, the lights are there to catch attention of other road users.

common after accident excuses/reasons.......

" i didn't see him coming"

" i checked and he wasn't there"

and the list goes on......

Enough said watch clip and think for yourself.

I see limbs everywhere on the road

Limbs of strangers i have not met

Are the Roads that vicious ?

Or is it just Dangerous ?

Whatever it is, no one can predict what lies on the roads................

I dun understand why some people can afford to ride a bike but can't afford to change the blardy light bulb if it has fused.

As a driver & rider myself, i can understand how irritating it is to spot a driver/rider with no lights on at night.

Even if its bright daylight, so what? Why would you wanna risk not having the lights on? At least, it will help u be more visible to literally "drunk" uncles that have been on the road the whole day and not noticing you.

Just my 2 cents. Even if your bike comes with the headlight switch, better to ride with the lights on. Even if you dun get caught by the men in white, you better pray that u have the luck with god.

normally i will use my hand by close and open my palm then point my headlight. some will just totally ignore me and speed off showing a pissed off face.

for the school teaching , on high beam when go out of circuit, is because without doing that there isn't any light.

i tink if the driver can spot ur bike, u on light or nv on light make no difference. If the friver dont check mirror or blindspot, u on high beam also no use. so i suggest bright sunny day, there is a no need to on the light for bike.

Same thing with big bike riders who "can't afford" or too lazy to put on proper riding gear. Anyway many pple learn the hard way. Lots of weirdos around. Luckily our bikes have 2 big bright bug eyes

Because we are SMALL SIZE and can get lost among the larger vehicles. Pls believe me, I drive and my side mirror and rear view mirror is VERY SMALL. I can spot the big cars easily, but sometimes I cannot see the small bikes especially if they are grey in colour. They merge with the rest of the cars or into the shadows.

It's worse when the bikes are like those Malaysian bikers, like to swerve here and there. At least with the light, it reflects off the mirror and tells me something is there.

what you say is correct

I observed too , SSDC only have position light on when driving in the circuit , but when driving on road they have high beam on. it was because they had modified their lighting this way and not meant to be a norm to operate the high beam when traveling on the road; after passing their TP .

riding with high beam in bright lights is a nuisance. it is meant for places with very poor visibility, eg Malaysian jungle road.

Considering how 90% of local drivers don't signal their intentions in advance, the thing about changing lanes without signaling / without announcing intentions remains a point of enforcement..... only in foreign nations with more civilised driving cultures :D

I haven't seen bikes using signal lights at all outside of convoying sessions. I'm like, the only one on a given roadwho uses hazards when forced to lanesplit, to indicate hazardous merging conditions etc.

Light up the bike like a christmas tree, already the hopeless drivers cannot see.

What's more riding a bike with no lights.

Same category as those who ride without mirrors. Plain silly.

From what I've experienced, even having your headlights on during the day doesn't really make much of a diff. Stock headlights are SH1T. Your yellowish halogen lamps count for nuts when put up against the glare of the sun, the bright backlight of the sky, and even the glint of sunlight off other cars' metal bodies. Drivers still cannot see you sometimes, if not most.

What we need are ultra bright halos or HIDs. Perhaps high intensity LED running lights during the day. While those LEDs may not have the throwing power in the dark, (they are not meant to illuminate your way in the dark) they're meant as marker lights to make you more noticeable. Honestly, unless you're running HIDs, headlights just don't fcking cut it at all during the day. You can't see sh1t.

I've been thinking abt getting those bumper mounted LED strip pods (like the ones you see on the GTR, Porsches, and new Mercedes) and retrofitting them just under the headlights... or inside, if I can find someone capable..... and then running it in the day. Then I'll turn off the useless headlights and save those for the night.

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....
