hmm.. i think fz is better choice then xj, the looks won't lose out xj wad. common so wad? ur DRZ also very common on street wad. but u made ur DRZ unique now. but most of all is need a comfortable bike for touring , like others had said. i can say 600cc had the same feel as a 400cc one. i believe u want to change bigger CC bike is for the POWER rite? so i would suggest u get a fz8 or fz1. if want fz8 why not fz1 haha.

fz8 got cheaper road tax and insurance. hope this help.

regarding the FC comparewith fz1, it's still mystery for fz8 FC

If you have the budget just take your time to look at the three bikes? Run through the details of each bike. What kinda of touring you are trying to achieved? light or high speed.

Spec as well.....USD fork, fully adjustable ones, monoblock, half fairing, alloy frame not look alike and etc.....Usually FZ for a scale down spec from their R series counter part. Which is a very good thing as the racing technologies of yesterday are blend into performance naked.

Or even get a used FZ1 will be a good choice.....

I have the same dilemma of choosing a bike now. Fazer 6 would have been right up my alley. But from all my hours of pouring through articles, it depends on what you want.

q1)Problem is i cant seem to find a single shop selling first hand one now. Anyone knows of any?

XJ6 has better fuel economy. Main stand for lubricating chain. Comes with lower cowl. And probably more comfort as the seating is right smack neutral for rider and pillion.

Cons would be poorer finishing (almost all xj6 bikes including the one at hong leong showroom i viewed has the plastic front fairing not well seated. The rubber footholds feel cheap n seem to tear after 1-2yrs of usage.

Fazer 8 on the other hand is more powerful and hence is better and long distances. Better aesthetics.

Cons - Poorer fuel economy, no main stand. Seating is slightly more forward than neutral stance, meaning a long distance riding would probably gif u a sore butt as e seat provided is kinda thin.

q2) does 2k (price difference btwn e bikes) justify about 180cc and 30hp ?

Yamaha FZ6 '05

Honda CBR600RR '08

brand new fz6s2, atan motor at ubi have 1. not sure if its still there.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

Do you mean brand new Fazer 600?

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

Guys, I have just placed a booking for my FZ 8.

To the knowledge gain on line and Fast Bike Mag, FZ 8 is a ride not for Tracking. As the rider's stand will Rub against the floor rather than ur knee pad during ur race.

Link:

Some review comments that the ride is more for daily purpose and it's user friend on both City and Touring Ride.

Last and not least, the Ride ur picking is ur Choice and what you want in mind.

Cheers bro Ride Safe.

seems like XJ6 still not able to gain much attraction. Current XJ6 owner mentioned its quite street friendly

Actually both machine can set foot on NSHW, just bear in mind what you want and does any of them meet your requirement. Peace!

:dot::dot: On side track, actually any bike can go on NSH.Even a vespa can ride up to Thailand... Just a matter of more 2ts and fuel stop as it is only 8 liters full tank... I know those guys who had done that before.

What matters is are game enough for touring up north and beyond?? I know a couple of my friends who brought expensive bike but never travel with their current machine out of SG. How pathetic.:dozed:

Among the 2 which u mentioned, I would say that FZ 8 would be a better choice, due to accessories and market value. Of course in terms of fuel per litre I would think that XJ would be able to hit 400km in distance with full tank since it is 600 cc naked category.

But if you intend to use the bike for touring, once a year or more per year, FZ8 would be better choice. Just remember to stop to top up the petrol along NSH

my personal view is XJ6 is not worth the price. XJ6 is using a detuned FZ6 engine. XJ6 is more ex, less power in terms of torque n hp. looks of XJ6 is not really very attractive. FZ6 will b a better catch if they r still selling 1st hand.

If base on price range, XJ6 n FZ8, the difference is not alot. then FZ8 n FZ1, the price diff oso not alot. but power wise, there is a diff.

its wise to consider properly b4 deciding which one to get.

cheers.
