Ya It's true Wave is better on fully synthetics because it may offer more mileage and protection dat is if u can afford it. Fully synthetic r expensive!

Whereas semi or hydrocracked oil break down faster and offer less heat and protection to heat?

I don think so. I have been using my Wave on most range of engine oils be it expensive or cheap and now I am still running it wif Hydrocracked oil. Bo taiji. As long as u keep to the drain intervals and monitor the engine oil level. Should be no problem.

To each and own preference.

Then why keep to drain intervals if oil doesn't break down ??

All oils will break down after a certain heat range.

Fully syns just happen to have a higher tolerance level compare to hydrocracked oils.

Just a note.....

U are running in your wave with a range of oils be it exp or cheap ?

U should be running it with mineral oils and then use syn after the run in process....

oh well...like u said...to each his own....

The answer is simple. It's because after long usage the oil will get dirty and Wave engine does not have oil filter. Futhermore after long usage it will lose it's viscosity to a lower viscosity. That is why need to have drain intervals.

All oils will break down after a certain heat range.

So far I use semi-synthetic = bo taiji. I somemore always full throttle. How high-rev can a Wave gooo? The highest I have tried so far is only 3 and a half rpm only? Wave is not sports bike la fren.

Fully syns just happen to have a higher tolerance level compare to hydrocracked oils.

This part maybe u partly correct. Fully synthetic may have longer mileage compared to the semi-syn but not all fully synthetic can giv extended mileage base from my past exp.

I got use lots to name a few popular brands one I have tried Motul(JB), Fuchs, Maxima, Castrol, Conoco, BlackGold, Idemitsu, Penzzoil(JB), Repsol, Total, Shell, Mobil, Elf and Redz. Some fully syn and some semi-syn and my engine still smooth like new.....

A classic example of listening to friend say and than do without even thinking.

If you only add a bit of 2T and its the first time you did such a insane act, don't worry cause not much harm is done to your engine. The 2T should have flown all the way down, by gravity, to the oil pan at the bottom of the bike engine when you park your bike overnight. It will stay there indefinately unless you drain all the engine oil out, flush with petrol and than replenish again.

125km/hr to 0km/hr in 1 sec will make mince meat. Ride slowly to show off your bike, Ride slowly to save your life.

if u don't mind forking out money, i would sugest using fully Synthetic oils by penzoil or other leading brands. or Esso gold. if budget, at least use semi-sythetic oils.

Living is the only thing worth dying for.

Description : mineral or synthetic

can wave use fully synthetic engine oil?

how many litre of engine oil needed for oil change?

:cheer:

Posted

yes....0.7L is the recommend volume as per the HondaWave manual book.

But 1L will do no harm.

Syn or min, is up to your pocket preference.

If you buy wave mainly is to save money, then the cheaper oil will be recommended.

If you got money to burn, then more expensive oil will be recommended.

There is no right or wrong.

Milliongs of rider in malaysia and vietnam all use cheap mineral oil and they are still riding it all day long.

Just look at those old kup riden by old ah-peh, last time where got synthetic oil. They 20years old bike is still working up till today. You think most ah-peh use synthetic oil or mineral oil?
