i think PML can fit ESA as after sale service if you are willing to pay the premium price...it would be cheaper at point of sale to go for the full works than to fit as a add on later.

one of my friend bought a Red 2010 GS without ASC...after weeks of riding he got PML to fit ASC system on his GS.

Red 2010 GS? The F800?

Ricky...from the BMW club sg...his previous ride was a Red 800 and he change to 1200 in RED also.

Not that, but 2010 has no red GS mah. Nonetheless, red is faster.

Guys...anybody knows where to get the ciggy adaptor??
Are u referring to this whereby u can plug to the left side socket? I can sell it to you if you want.

My TPM sensors keep giving a flat-tyre reading after travelling at quite a speed for a short distance. Why is this so?

Time for a reset?

In order to get back the 4 digits (35 :38 for example), i have to switch off and start the bike again.

Guess i'll stick to juz the stock without the ESA. Thanks guys for the input... BTW check wif PML they don't have '10 model in red... Only Matt Grey or Yellow.

Question is: how does the sensor detect tire pressure? No wire or anything going to the wheels liao

Hi everyone,

I've fallen in love with the F800R and am planning to get it hopefully sometime next year. Anyone riding this bike? And since I'm a noob with BMW bikes, I got a couple of questions:

1) Is it better to get the bike from PML or from other bike shops? I'm assuming with future servicing and all, it would be safer to get it from PML?

2) Are there any LTA-approved aftermarket exhaust pipes for the F800R?

3) Any advice from those riding BMW bikes (especially F800R) with regards to maintenance, spare parts availability, workshops for servicing, etc?

Any advice is very much appreciated!

Have a great 2011 everyone!

PML will reset your bike TPC system free of charge to check if defect goes away and sometimes it will work...if defect persist i think $$$$ gone liao:cry: to replace parts of the TPC system.

My TPC defect is different from yours...at 27 mths with mileage at 43k...only the rear reading remain blank and take sometime for it to read and soon the rear TPC reading remain blank.

Reset done at PML but defect persisted so paid total $241.57 to replace rear sensor with valve.

Careless whisper talk is that the built in battery in the tire sensor valve can last up to 5 years or last not more than 5 years...whichever statement is correct we the consumers are the one that pay the price if things happen out of the 2 years warranty period.:pity:

i opt for the traction control without tyre pressure sensor, anyway i been riding bike for almost 20 years without tyre pressure sensing and it not a must have..this technology was first used on commerical plane and it has proven a big headache for me at work..always give blank or false reading..doent make sense to pay more to get more headache

I concur. Classic overengineering example. Just read the wiki link I posted and you will know why.

i answer the most important queston here, which is the 1st question.

You may get a much lower quote from other bikeshops..as much as $5k different but should you need assistance to repair / ECU download @ PML then prepare for

1. pay PML $5k to 'adopt' your bike as PML's bike, or you may call it 'join back' fee

2. pay 25% more everytime you service or repair your bike @ PML

3. pay $500 per download should you need to download software for your ECU. PML customers get it FOC

4. no booking priority for any servicing or repair

Thank you for the information Sir. My bike currently at 21mths, hence i would get it rectified b4 the 24th comes.

So which system is used on the 1200GS? Direct, rf-based?

Thank you Sir, very resourceful of you.

hi bros. sorry to trouble you guys. my bro wants to buy 2010 GSA, in fact he has been to PML showroom many times to try if he can sit on it comfortably. however, they do not have a testbike for my bro to sit on.

he has a few questions that i hope bros here can help him with.

1. is the seat height for 2010 GSA same as the previous years model?

2. how many seat height adjustments are there? inclusive of origin seat height?

3. how much can we lower the seat height by adjusting the pre-load suspension?
