I started riding with music this week.

Make the long journey to work more bearable.

But riding itself is already very fun.

I don't dare to try listening to MP3 while riding. I kind of want my ears 100% clear just 'in case' they pick up something the other senses can't.

The wind blast and engine noise cancels out any prospect of listening to music anyway (exhaust sound is music!).

Here's a fun thought - convoy leader with very random playlist on MP3 player. Moves normally at first and the whole convoy proceeds smoothly.

Suddenly epic techno track plays and convoy leader zooms away leaving everyone else behind a red light.

Oops?

Been doing it since I started riding.

Tend to fall into lapse when I don't listen to music when I ride.

I'd say it's up to individual, some folks cannot focus with music on, some could. It's the same as when we're young whilst studying `innit?

Anyhow, those using BT Headset, would you recommend something for Iphone which do sound loud enough to hear while on the move?

I've tried 2 BT headsets, both volume way too soft.

Anyone?

Hmm, can try mw600 sony ericsson.

they provide a short length in ear earpiece which is better than average for its quality.

u can source ur own earpiece to attach to the BT but then wires would need to coil up to make it shorter. =]

im mostly listening and enjoying the music on the long ride, was stopped for road checks with earphones on but they didnt mention about it..so i guess its alright?

i think the logic is that because it is in-ear, you tend to focus on it more compared to a 'open air' type of sound from speakers such as car radio.

It's more of an attention thing rather than the inability to listen to sounds like horns, etc.

anw, i nv like the idea of listening to music when riding.. prefer the sound of the engine though not so much the wind noise.

but i do wear ear plugs on longer expressway type journeys. makes the ride more comfortable. :)

wind and road noise is damaging to ear drums. can reduced the damage by using earplug, or if you wan to listen to music while moving, use the in-ear type of earphone. it acts as ear-plug as well.

Ear drums are the tools for your hearing. protect it.

actually bro, what you can do is, if u are using iphone. Use the stock ear phones. you can plug in 1 side only, listen to music and when phone ring, and if you really need to answer you can just press the button to answer on the spot.

frankly speaking without music while riding makes me sleepy especially after my night shift goin home time die die mus hear song if not i will fall asleep while riding hahah

i use them definitely. There's a study that shows that motorcycle helmets FF or half face actually enhances the wind noise around ur ears and so may cause ear damage. So to choose the lesser of two evils i use earphones. Loud until just enuf to suppress the wind noise and no louder. that's my take..

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...
