haha like stwb says....maybe the license for everyone should start from 2b->2a->2->3 , like that those that only drive and dun empathise with bikers will know how we feel when being tailgated

In Singapore, the mental block is A car=I am rich, roads are for cars only. Bikes are soooo slow and all the pathetic riders get the F off the roads. Bike=poor people and shouldnt use the roads at all.. We are too small like a speck of dust.

 

I ever get a cheery QQ tailgating me on lane 2. The driver cant do on lane 1 so can only do lane 2 and eat all the bikes. I slow..slow..slow......he attempted to overtake from lane 3....i fast.......he stepped hard on the pedal (can hear the engine ahhhhhhhhhhhh)....i faster abit. He move back behind me.

 

The driver probably didnt know my bike is 1400cc while his is 900cc...lol.

 

10 years bloody car loan and drive like king of the road maniac = priceless. lolololx

 

i am not adding fuel to fire but really pity chery QQ owners.

 

always meet one chery on my way to work daily and it's so convenient to lane split beside him, not to mention that my foot peg is about his window level... (can showoff my shoe brand ?)

fiat = Fix-It-Again-Tonny. Always have weird problems you seldom experience on reliable economical japanese cars. Thats fiat for you. European makes are fun to drive, but a nightmare to maintain in quickpace Singapore.

 

Basically the only advantage bikes have versus cars is in traffic jams, i mean small bikes. Bikes are jam cruisers, cars big or small, always burn petrol and wear out parts in jams. In free flowing traffic anything can happen, even for powerful bikes versus small cc cars.

 

I old already, never pick on any 4 wheelers.

I hate drivers who dun give ways to bikers and show off their 4 wheels.

Esp those who turn out from small to main rd and take bloody 30 sec to reach 60kph even though they know the bike they saw needs to brake hard for them to turn.

Given the experience posted by Coolday, if I were being tailgated, yet it was not immediately safe for me to filter left, I would first signal left to indicate my intention to the Fiat Punto driver, and once it was safe I would immediate filter left to allow him to pass me.

 

The signalling is important because the last thing you want is when you want to filter left, and the driver wants to overtake you from your left.

 

Personally I have encountered numerous riders along CTE tunnel who hogged Lane 1 at about 85kph (based on my speedo). Not sure if they noticed me closing on them but most would simply stay in their lane until they need to exit the expressway.

 

I won't tailgate them as it is very dangerous for them (not me) as riders are more vulnerable. So I will flash them just once when I am still quite a distance behind. If they don't filer off, then either I drive behind them at a safe distance or I move to another lane hopefully to overtake them later.

 

Taxis are another one that don't like to filter left to allow overtaking.

 

Being overtaken seems like a big ego bashing experience to most. Regardless if I am riding or driving, I never fail to filter left to allow a faster road user to overtake me.

Once i was traveling from AYE exiting to Clementi Ave 6, signal my intention to turn right to exit AYE. Saw from my blind spot mirror, a FBF plate class 2 bike picking up speed, so i slow down waitied for him to over take me.

 

But whats next was a suprise to me he kept the same speed to my car speed.So Lan Lan brake a little went behind him to turn into clementi ave 6. What happen next when i tried to overtake him he just switch into the lane i am going to over take. I go left he follow left, i go right he follow. I was thinking maybe his new class 2 bike very powerful, but on wet surface it was a very dangerous thing to do somemore on that day raining.

 

So i think there are some black sheep among drivers and rider. Whats most important is every we can reach home safely and there are always someone waiting for you to go home which is ur parents. Please do drive/ride safe as this few days is a rainy season..
