Guys,

I used to think that bikes with kick-start is better than those push-start (that means, you turn on the engine by pushing a button with your right thumb), as there are times you cant start the engine when the battery. alternator. bla bla bla are giving problem. What do u think?

:help:

By the way, push-start is to run with the bike and throttle. What you are referring to is Electric start.

Well, I think electric start is much more convenient, but should the battery die on you. Hohoho... Anyway, best if comes with both, like my current ride! Electric and Kick! :cheer:

electric start seems 2 b a better choice for me cuz kick start is quite troublesome.. furthermore, most of d big bikes dun haf kick start.. its tiresome!!! or u can say i'm a bit lazy to use a lil wee bit of strength here.. hahaha... :cheeky:

When u r moving, and ur bikes dies on u, u jux hav to release ur clutch and the engine will start...of cox..u mux engage a gear..

The rationale is the same as push start(note: nt refering to electric start)...hee...

Unless your bike dies on you like how it died on me last time.

Was riding down the road where got CHIJ KC and VJC at Marine Parade that side, at about 80 or 90. Then the bike throttle suddenly don't engage, the bike just from 90 drop all the way to 0 in a matter of seconds.

Realised I forgot to turn on the fuel flow thingy. :cheeky:

Electric start for me. For kick start, the spring will eventually get worn out.

for amateur rider like me... if have both elec start and kick start best...

normal day use E-start... when got problem still have backup kick start....

KTM should have the hardest kick start...

if i'm not wrong... i used to be able to stand on my kick starter at its highest position... its a challenge to kick a ktm i feel... (or maybe i'm not kicking like a horse yet. hahaha)

if the electronic starter fails, you could always push start the bike.

Its quite troublesome to push start your bike alone. I means its not impossible or not extremely difficult, but its not very convenient. Would rather have a kick start as well in case the Battery dies. :cheeky:

yes i agree too. having both is a definite advantage. but it'll look freaking funny to have to kick start ur cbr 1000 or yzf-r1 when the battery fails you at the side of the road. pretty unglam i might say. hahah.

however, having a electric starter on an automatic bike is a loser. haha. no gear to engage or whatever. just pray that the battery has one last strength for you to ride to the nearest motorshop for repairs.

i'm for both. my gileradna won't start because it only owns an electric starter. and now without a kick starter, its pretty unglam for me this time around to push all the way home the bike. argh! so for this instance i'm a pro-electric/kick starter.

cheers.

i used to own a gilera runner and it had both, i find it quite ok... coz that bike always give problem one... so end up have to learn to kick start that bike...

and i ever lost the batt for my SP, imagine if electric start... sure die... how to start... luck is kick start one so still can ride to the nearest bike shop that's still open..

I've had my trials and tribulations relating to having an electric-start bike: push-start, crank-n-crank, weak battery, etc...

But I still gonna reap the benefits that an electric-start capable bike brings
