Requirements, just basic education with decent english and ability to follow instructions. Pay, after all those deduction around 900. Benefits, laughable. You can upgrade to roaming officer if you can ride a bike, then the pay reach up till almost 2k with OT. I don't recommened the hdb warden job however, there are like thousands better jobs out there. Cisco wardens.. better pay and benefits surely.

The job leaves u alone to do your own thing. Outside work got more spare time compared to normal jobs. I've almost finished my backlog of everything I want to do while working this way. Of course the wage is not sustainable, still looking around for better job.

Don't know either. The device for us normal wardens states $50 only. Maybe $400 is when the offence is escalated somehow.

Can i ask why is it that some wardens, seem to "ambush" some cars? Like for e.g. a car came in to drop by 10 mins but on returning find kena saman already.

 

Or i do see some wardens loitering around carparks at areas hard to spot, or even some wardens i see doing 2,3 rounds a carpark. Very scary leh..like sharks sia.

 

Also for car coupons, what if you try to "extend" the coupon. Say you park at 11.30am but you put 11.45am. And if you put 2 coupons, sometimes i tear 11.45am (1hr) and than 1pm. So from 12.45pm to 1pm i have a time hole. Will wardens be so specfic on that?

So like that should HDB draw up designated Police Car lot at every HDB block?

The gadget gives at least 10 minutes grace before we can saman. By the time we walk back to the car, double check properly, wouldn't really take more than 15 minutes before kena saman.

Unlucky only, coinciding with our scheduled rounds. Besides, how am I supposed to know the driver's day story, that he was dropping off for a while to do whatever he needs to. It's again impossible to saman within 10 mins if he don't put coupon. If got expired coupon or park in season holder place, can kena immediately. A few times the car feels obviously hot, that's when I understand. No point in ambushing, because if the driver suddenly returns or see us just issued the saman (oi oi!), I'll have to brace for a possible tedious personal confrontation, all so HDB can be richer than they already are? Bleh.

Must try check everywhere, including reporting carpark maintenance like number or lot lines faded, sign no more light, etc. We do one round, then if got grace period for some cars, we walk back again to issue the second round saman.

We are instructed to allow that. If your last coupon expire, got at least 10 minutes grace as well.

Cannot saman police car or those QX plate. Maybe can take picture proof and demand explanation?

Was instructed not to disturb covered bike anymore like late last year if I remember correctly. But I think if have over-zealous angry warden, wouldn't be a problem with the checking, not really official I guess. I don't like people to touch my bike, so I don't disturb others, I've never saman a covered bike.

got urgent case, wait until police come also become not urgent already..

 

i remember calling the cops for a couple of people drink-drank-drunk and started fighting in my area, the cops didn't even come after 20mins.. those involved in the fight already run until dunno where already..

 

and they love to tai-ji their way through as though your complaints/feedbacks are non-constructive.

Yes... I know he's referring to the NPP lots but by his analogy, I stand to wat I said.

Note or no note. Police car parked at certain place for certain reason.

If Police car meant to illegal park then driver put up the note still LPPL.

I see the note as just reminding people they're there for business so stop the complaining...

Yeah we can take pictures to save our asses, with phone or digital camera provided to certain areas. Deliberation on appeals is solely HDB business, don't really know the details from their side. They can cross check if the car rfid label is displayed and scanned, if the car make and road tax date is correct together with other warden device information and any additional proofs given.

 

With a wrong saman, at HDB's discretion, wardens can be brought to court, fined or warning slip from company.

1) A vehicle with season parking cannot be summoned for illegal parking within his designated carpark by 'normal' wardens, unless he parks in such a way that ppl complain and a special 'roving warden' comes down to issue summons.

 

sui lah. those times when bike lots near my block are full, i always dilemma want to illegal park out of the way or go find far far underground lots. now i noe if i park out of the way and dun cause complaint, i'm safe.

this is the only one i disagree with. as a season parking holder, i am not happy if a freeloader uses up my lot and cause me inconvenience. he shouldn be allowed to go scot free just because he has cover. the way i see it, if season parking then surely the rfid coupon can be detected under cover. if no season parking, then coupon shd be clearly displayed on cover. if both dun have, obviously illegal park and if cover damaged coz he forcefully tie cover tight to deter warden, he can fly kite with his complaint.

5) How frequent does your schedule visits the same carpark? (once every 4 hours?)

Like I said for this, I don't think it's official, maybe just what our supervisor said to reduce complain against the group of us. It's a continuous tussle between interests of HDB - Company - Wardens - Motorists.
