I took the bus some time ago to town from Holland V. Wah lao walk to bus stop already took me like 10 minutes, then wait for 10 minutes for the bus. Bus come no seat,so got to stand throughout and balance and hold my files while the bus brake and go and brake and go. Takes a good 20minutes to reach town. 40 minutes from Holland V to Orchard, hello????? Plus I arrive all sweaty from the walking and frazzled from the stress. And it costs like $3 to get there and back?

Biking will take me 20 minutes max. That includes taking my own time to slowly don my motorcycle gear. Plus got own seat. No worries about not getting a seat, and I can just throw my files and bag into the bike box. Arrive unfrazzled. Parking? Coupon parking will only cost me 65 cents. Even parking at Cairnhill bike park $1.50. Petrol? 15min riding won't really consume that much...works out to be the same price.

Even if it rains, just wear a good raincoat, and my wellingtons! Just got to be more careful. Bike over public transport. Anytime. :thumb:

let me give one example of bus win bike.. onli for that case.. 2 wks ago my bike rear punctured, onli gt to know when i going home..it was at marina square..try pushing but the rear tyre totally flat like gluee to the gnd , pushing also gt prob..try riding too unstable, so i cant charge my tyre and ride to bike shop... since its late and i don wan my bike to park ourside bikeshop, later parts gana stun...so i wait til sat then tow...

so for thurs fri, i gt to take bus to and from work..as im staying telok blangah, str8 bus 97 reach MBS directly..ard 20mins ride..normally i park MS cos free parking then walk to MBS.. for the 2 day i was so happy.. if i ride to work.. its almost one hr b4 i mus walk out, wif bus i reach even earlier, mayb i work at 11am so no crowd.. =P..

comparing bike vs bus in this case, petrol fee almost the same as my fc is 20km/l which give 10km = 1dollar.(riding from home to MS is 10km).. bus is 1.1dollar? or 1.2..i 4gt..so in this special case bus is gd... go home time also no crowd, 6pm, mayb 97 wu lu bus..LOL

haha..tt time while taking bus, i saw a cp at the other end of MBS, somewhr near those construction site office.. i don think 1yr ago have... u can park there? but need to pay, but don need to give erp if u enter from ecp.. some say park at flyer is closer, but i chose marina sq due to free shelter free parking.. if that time i were to choose open parking but nearer, i will be damn sad for my puntured bike to exposed to sunlight..LOL

Thanks for reminding us that on the bus we have to stand and when we're holding stuff, it's difficult, especially when the bus drivers don't drive smoothly like the ones in Hong Kong. I forgot about how jerky the bus journeys can be.

So it's true about parking at Cairnhill. It's now $1.50 from $1 :weep:

most cases motorbike wins bus.

for my case, it cuts travelling time to/from work by between 50-75% takes me about 2hrs to get to office, but with a bike, good weather is about 30mins, wet weather/bad jam at most 1hr. not to mention the convenience of going anywhere anytime.

i think the best thing about biking is the CHOICE it gives us. :) everyday, we can have the freedom to choose how we want to travel depending on the situation. people who only have public transport to rely on, tough luck for them. haha.

but some how i tink there is disadvantage also... the maintence cost.. erp.. parking.. petrol... damage... if all this taken into consideration... public transport might be cheaper.. but still one word. CONVENIENT!!
